its okay I cried to and then I went off at people at my school because I was torn and they didn't even know who bowie was and it pissed me off

I woke up this morning and, because I'm a slut for David Bowie, I had Lazarus (in case you haven't heard it yet, the first line is Look up here, I'm in heaven) as my alarm tone and I was pretty happy. I went to the kitchen for breakfast and my mom was sitting at the table, just staring at her phone. I asked her what was wrong and she asked me if I knew who David Bowie was. I said yes, and she hugged me and told me that he passed away. I cried for ten minutes straight. I got a marker and wrote on my hand 'long live Ziggy' and I almost cried every time I saw it today.
Mr. David Bowie was such an inspiration to me, not only musically, but he gave me the confidence to come out to my mom. I'll always remember how I felt when I heard his music for the first time, and how someone finally understood what I couldn't put into words. I'll remember when I watched Labyrinth with my best friend and we laughed at his costume.
It feels as if summer won't come; that the sky will no longer be blue. Ziggy Stardust truly belongs to the universe now. Long live our alien.
