Oh my god, i remember once somebody sent me a link to my own story... it was on a website ive never heard of before, heh)
It got deleted a week later, so i guess someone told her/him
@Gee'sCLUELESSgirl!
especially when the writer is new and their work is more vulnerable because not many people have seen it. it ticks me off that it might turn off a talented person to sharing their work. like, posting something on the internet is risky enough, its not an invitation to steal. we dont need talented people swearing off posting stuff because an asshole decided to copy their work
@Gee'sCLUELESSgirl!
It also is usually really obvious because people who rip off stories usually cant actually write or come up with new ideas that match originality for chapters
ps. i love all your stories a lot
I discovered a case of this a while ago. I was reading this pretty standard student/teacher Frerard, and it was ok, nothing spectacular, but the writer had said she was new, so I thought I'd give it a chance.
Chapter 4, I suddenly got the strongest case of de-ja-vu in my life!.. Almost the whole chapter was one I'd previously read in a very old Frerard on here (I can't remember the title or who wrote it), it was a smut scene that I remembered quite vividly because it was quite extreme.. I sent a PM to this new writer, asking if she had taken this story over from someone else, cos that would explain it.. She said no, it was all her work.. I told her that I'd read the chapter before, and within ten minutes shed deleted the story completely.. She didn't answer me back.
Weirdly however, she sent me a PM about a month later, saying "Thanks for your interest in my story, sorry I had to take it down, but I just didn't think it was that good. I'll be starting a new fic soon, and will PM you when it's up"
I haven't heard from her since!
@Mayfire
It was funny cuz I was to embarrassed to message that girl, I was just like "whatever, let dat bitch be,"
