haha thats funny. well, life is funny sometimes. My dad was super paranoid about stuff happening to my sis & I so my 1st show (Depeche Mode http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devotional_Tour) was at 18 yrs old. I tried to see as many as I could but controlling dad, lack of funds, trying to balance work/college/etc.... Once I got married, we saw a lot of shows together. But then something made him almost impossible to drag out. Now that I'm sick and have a spine injury, I can't stand for long periods, its hard for me to be the driver, I tire easily. It sucks. There are a lot of venues close-ish, esp when I hear that ppl travel 3+ hours or to another state to see a show. Its about an hour to an hour and a half to quite a few (plus 20 mins to the one that doesn't get many rock acts. I saw Martina McBride there yrs ago.) But in my present condition, it feels so far away, esp if nobody else wants to go. I just feel isolated in general lately. :(

"You can run away with me, anytime you want" We'll see some shows. I'd love to see They might be giants at the Fillmore in June. not even going to try to find any takers for that one. But I love them so much.

@Do or Die
thanks so much!!

I haven't listened to Suicidal Tendencies in awhile! I range from Metallica (before they started sucking), Bad Religion, Cake, Tori Amos, old Billy Joel, Pistol Annies, Miranda Lambert, Andrea Bochelli. I saw Michael Crawford, the guy who played the original Phantom (in Phantom of the Opera) live. I was a music major in college. I'd pretty much stand by any music, book, show I like, even if the rest of the world thought it was lame. I've probably been to 50 concerts in my life and maybe 25 musicals. I'd love to see American Idiot but it hasn't come to SF.

@Sharpest_Life_B
honestly my music goes from The Ready Set to Suicidal Tendencies in one shuffle so i get you on that 100%

I'll have to check them out. Panic! is in my top 5 at the moment, but I tend to listen to a certain group of albums/bands for awhile until I need a reboot. Then I'll go drastic, even if its just for a day or two. I always thought have rounded out my influences are a songwriter. You know, you always end up hearing about someone that your influences love. and you're thinking, huh, really? i know I've got the wildest mood swings when it comes to music.

@Sharpest_Life_B
oh i got to go the concert but yeah it was super rad. im not a big fan of them but it was fun cause Walk The Moon was good too

Still loving this story btw. :)

@The Black Anti-Flag
Thats awesome. Did you get to go or did you find them on youtube? I actually had a chance to see them twice last yr I think it was? The first time the were the second opener for FOB at the America's Cup thingy so it was too short, but they ended up coming back 6 months later. I know it sounds like I just go to shows all the time (HA nope) but I just happened to see a couple. Hadn't been to a concert in yrs, then all of the sudden I got lucky. 3 in '13 -'14 and 2 this yr which is crazy. Very abnormal. The jetset life and all.

@Sharpest_Life_B
i honestly have the best videos from the panic at the disco concert from last summer. like you can barley hear the fans and it's not shaky or nothing. theyre still pretty awesome!

:( sometimes I think it's better to watch the recorded live concerts. I know that sounds weird but you'll never get a view than that. For some reason, none of the signings happen here. Several times I've seen So California then Portland get them with nothing in the Bay Area. I know there must be a good reason but it still kills you to see ads for them signing at Hot Topic or record/comic stores. Although I bet it's a madhouse.

@Sharpest_Life_B
arghhhh i just watch peoples concert videos and cry a lot :/. im surprised he didnt play at this bar near here cause we have a pretty popular one... well Connecticut-popular which isn't real popular

@The Black Anti-Flag
That sucks! They're actually playing close this summer, at a venue half an hour away that usually doesn't get cool ppl. Wish u could have seen Frank w me. :( The whole small venue thing was great. Wonder if he will stay w that. I ended up seeing Three Days Grace- an unplanned but awesome thing at the Fillmore. It's where Gee was. It was pretty small too. I just wanted to kick my own ass even more. Could have been right up there. :/

@Sharpest_Life_B
truetrue. but if i were to murder someone i would totally use ebay tbh
but really i wish i had more concert buddies in this area cause i lost 2 fall out boy tickets cause i couldnt go by myself and i need a ride/friend
i really hope i get to see either frank or gerard soon cause i might die a little if i dont. just a little bit though cause ill probably see them next tour

@Sharpest_Life_B
you know, I've met so many cool sounding people from all over the US and from a few different countries, it seems like we should be able to pool our resources.on the one hand I would love to be like sure come stay at my house will go watch Frank together. it can't be that much different then couchsurfing.com or whatever that website is. but then you run the risk of something dangerous happening like getting murdered in your sleep like the occasional Craigslist mishap. maybe I'll start my own bed and breakfast - MCR bringing together depressed people all over the world.

@The Black Anti-Flag
Sorry. I keep checking to see if Gee will come back but nah. Sorta unrelated, I don't understand why we can't have better music festivals in our area. I mean really it's the Bay Area. there is one that happens every year I can't remember the name, but it sucks every year. if it's not worth a 45 minute drive you know it sucks. I know that there is Southern California that's really not that close at all and when you factor in travel and a place to stay and all that might as well be just as far away as another state. everytime I see the there is a festival that either Frank or Gee is playing in different states. *sigh* I even have three close friends in other states, but I don't think theyre the right States and I wouldn't want to use my friends like that. and I really just don't think that my health can handle it. I have to wheelchair it. :(

@Sharpest_Life_B
ughhhhhhhhh both Frank and Gerard aren't coming to CT again! and neither is The Used. (which has nothing to do with anything but i really like the used) our venues kinda suck and stuff

That's hilarious. When I was a teenager, emo was goth, and I was fairly goth. Copper hair, so much black eyeliner. Went to Sacramento once to go Goth Dancing w a co worker, and wow. Voguing (is that how u spell that?), meets ballet, meets interpretive dance as it would be preformed at Robert Smith's house.

It's cool living sort of close to Berkeley and SF, but the traffic is hell, the cost of living is hell and it's hard for me to find someone to go w me to concerts. I'm all jacked up from injuries and whatnot. I missed Gee last Oct cuz I had nobody to go with. And the area wasnt the best so going alone wasn't ideal. You rly should always take a buddy there. The neighborhood can change quickly from one block to the next. But at least I saw Frankie in March!
