It's hard to pick just 3 other bands.. but I'd have to say Leathermouth, Panic! At The Disco, and Ludo!

With those three (Silversun Pickups, The Smiths, and Sigur Ros) just about any song is phenomenal. Same with Brand New, but I'll give you my favourites with that one. Sigur Ros is a classical Icelandic band. They even made up their own language to go with the music. They are wonderful and complex and just... I swear they're the cure to all ills. Mental and physical.
"Play Crack the Sky" is my favourite from Brand New. Others are Jesus Christ, Sowing Season, Mixtape (amazing! And such frank lyrics.) Millstone... AGH! So many.

Thank you so much! My teachers at school all say the same thing. Writing is definitely my forte. That and music. Grief is not something that goes away after just one moment; it'll have its sneaky moments where it captures you and holds you mercilessly. Good thing I have found my Irina! I've actually heard the names of your bands but never really listened to them. What songs should I listen to first?

And this is so great so far! You write grief perfectly. It's not a momentary thing and sometimes it's not continuous. It's good at sneaking up on you like that.
