I need help!

Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could give me advice for some fanfictions?

Plot ideas or writing tips?

A bit of both, but Writing tips...

I have a few tips, here are some:
Read, read, read; whether it be books or other fanfictions, make sure to read a lot and use others for inspiration. Know you're characters, and make sure to describe your character to the reader. Make sure your writing is descriptive, but not too much so. Avoid using words multiple times; find synonyms! Maybe find an editor if you're really new to writing, which I'd be happy to do if you ever consider it.
That's all I got so far, but I'd be happy to think of more and give you more tips if you're interested:)

My biggest tip (even for myself) lately is to remember the five senses when writing a scene. Describe not only what the surroundings look like, but feel like, smell like, taste like and sound like.

At the top of my head, some other things I try to keep in mind when I write:

- Don't skim over important moments.

- Cut out scenes that aren't necessary or don't drive the story forward. (This one is challenging for me personally).

- Listen to music, watch movies, read books, pay attention (but not creepily) to strangers on a bus or in public for inspiration.

- When facing writer's block for one scene, skip to a moment in the story you're eager to work on first. Being excited to write it you'll probably produce some of your best writing.

- Grammar is great, but in creative writing can occasionally be twisted and broken. Invent your own style of writing that works best for you and your readers. I'm not saying throw away quotation marks and periods, but don't be afraid to take on your own style either. (DO remember to put spaces between character change in dialogue).

- I recently purchased a book on my Kobo called "201 Wrting Prompts" by Heather Wright that also has some useful tips if you're ever battling writer's block.

Good luck!
