Sarah's usual dark brown eyes were a brilliant golden honey, with black specks sprinkled around, in the light of the setting sun.

Gerard could see everything that she held behind her beautiful eyes.

He could see her pain, her sorrows, her secrets, her love, her life, her smile, and her soul.

He could tell that the pain and sorrow was fading, while the light had started growing.

He kissed her forehead and whispered in her ear.

"I will never let anyone take the light behind your eyes. Ever."

He then kissed her soft, pink lips passionately.

The sun had fallen and all was quiet in Monroeville.

The two held hands and gazed at the stars while laying on the soft grass.

Not only were their hands intertwined, but their souls were as well.

From then on, Gerard and Sarah loved each other beyond time itself.

And Gerard never let anyone take the light behind Sarah's eyes, alive and dead.

What they had was pure, and lasted forever.
