uppercut - frerard

Frank went into immediate panic. I just knocked Gerard out! His mind kept repeating.

Naturally, when everyone else in the building heard the “thud” of Gerard hitting the floor, they all rushed to see what happened. Pete, the coach for the teens, made his way into the ring and said, “Whoa, Frank, did you do that?”

Frank was shaking. “Y-Yeah...I didn’t mean to he- he just caught me off guard and my hand slipped and I-”

“It’s okay, Frank. I know you wouldn’t knock Gerard out on purpose. Let’s go drag him out of this thing.”

They got Gerard out of the ring and got him some ice. After about half an hour, just before they were going to call an ambulance, he started gaining consciousness. “Mm...Frank?”

“He’s right here, G.”

“Hey, Gerard.” Frank said.

“You ...you never answered my question.”

Frank promptly grabbed his bag and made his way to the large open door of the place. “I’ll let you know.” He sprinted to his car.

He threw his duffel bag in the backseat and then sat down in the driver’s seat. He grabbed his temples. “Holyshitholyshitholyshitholyshit,” he mumbled, before placing his hands on the steering wheel and taking a deep breath.

Someone knocked on his car window, and he scrambled. It was Mikey. Frank rolled down his car window.

“Hey, Frank!”

“H-Hey, Mikey, I-”

“Frank, you know that band me and Ray are in?”

“Spiral of Numbers? Yeah.”

“We’re gonna be performing at this rock festival, and I’d really really like for you to come.” He handed Frank a ticket. “This is a VIP ticket, it’ll get you in the front row.”

Frank grinned. “Thanks...how long have you been doing this, to be performing there?”

“Oh, music?” Mikey shrugged. “I’ve been down with punk rock since the third grade, man.”
