Save Me
The Past
I walked outside with an extremely upset Helena behind me. When we were both outside, I turned to her and studied her for a second, and she was looking straight back at me.
"Helena, what's wrong" I looked at her for any signs that she was going to tell me something" noticing none, I sighed.
"You know you can talk to me, I’m your tutor"
She breathed in loudly, "I’m fine" She stated.
Knowing that was a complete lie, I tried again. "Helena, talk to me please I want to help you." This time, I knew I got through to her as she started to cry. It was heart-breaking seeing her like this and I don't know why.
"He, he is horrible and he want- wants me to f-forgive him"
I stepped forward and put one arm around her for comfort as I didn't want to breach the 'teacher- student rules' "Helena, who? Who’s horrible?"
"Louis, my ex - boyfriend" she stated, slowly stopping crying.
I squeezed her arm a little signalling her to carry on, she rested her head on my chest, and again with the thoughts, it felt really really good.
"He" she sighed, trying to find the right words "just before my dad died, he r- raped me" I was frozen in anger, I noticed her look up at me, but I didn't say anything. So she carried on talking
"I stayed with him, because he threatened me, and then.” She took another deep breath, this must be hard for her to talk about I thought. “Then, when my dad died, I was really upset and he got annoyed because I wasn't spending time with him, so we broke up"
"Who knows?"
"Callum and Heidi" I looked at her puzzled.
"You haven't told your mum?"
"No, she wouldn't care, she is never home anyways" I looked at my watch noticing 15 minutes have gone, I should really get back to my class.
"Helena"
"Please call me Hel, Helly or Lena" she interrupted.
"Lena, we should really get back into class"
"I don’t know what we are doing, I didn’t listen" she admitted in a low whisper.
"Well I will help you but I want to talk to you tomorrow lunch time"
"Okay" she said sounding defeated and walked back in class.
I took a breath, finally taking it what she had said and walked back in after her wondering what to do.
