The Graveyard
Helena’s POV
I was wondering around the park, it was getting dark and I had no clue where I wanted to sleep.
The benches were right near where the woods start and I didn’t feel safe there. If you lived where I lived you’d understand. A new girl goes missing every month.
I was by the gate at the edge of the park when I remember that was a massive graveyard nearby. I decided to try my luck there.
When I got there I had to climb over this giant fence because there were guys near the gate no doubt waiting to stop people like me wondering in. It was easy enough though.
Once I was inside I saw the place I was thinking of over the over side of the yard. It’s a giant stone building with pillars and a massive porch like thing.
It was dry once I got there, unlike the rest of the place right now – which was a plus.
I liked it here, it was much better than the park. I'm close to my dad and my brother as well. I decided to go visit them both; they’re not too far away. Right round the corner in fact.
When I got round the corner I saw someone stand a couple of graves away from them, I always hated visiting my dad and brother when someone was nearby so I waited for them to leave.
As they were walking away to the gate I walked up to my dad and brothers graves
“Hey Joshy, Hey Dad. How are you guys? You having fun up there? I bet you’re probably playing a constant game of football right?
Mum chucked me out the house dad, can you believe that? She leaves me alone and then decides to chuck me out.
I know what you’d say, she’s just grieving, but I am too dad. The best part is I have nowhere to stay.
I have really made a mess of my life dad, I'm glad you’re not here to see it because you really wouldn’t be proud, a lot has changed.
I got suspended again dad. I didn’t mean to, promise. I will try harder, there’s a great new teacher who’s going to help me as well. His name is Mr Way, his little brother is in my year and we are friends. The only problem is Mr Way knows all about my life and I really don’t like it.
He keeps getting in my business. Maybe I should start to give him a chance.
I have a really bad temper just like you did, I just lose control.”
I started to cry and leaned up against his grave stone.
“I love you so much dad and I really want you back and you too Joshy, I miss you so much. Why did you have to go? Why couldn’t it have been me instead?”
I sat there for about an hour in the heavy rain, nearly falling asleep when I heard footsteps.
“Mikey, get her bags, will get her in the car.” It’s Gerard and Mikey. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn’t.
I felt him start to lift me up and I groaned, my back had been in the same place for so long it hurt to move.
“It’s alright Hel, I'm here”
He carried me quite a way and then I heard a car door open and then I was suddenly engulfed in warmth, it felt nice.
“we’ll be back in a minute Hel, just got to do something”
Gerard’s POV
Me and Mikey took the roses that we bought for our grandma that we lost tragically about 5 years ago. And then said our goodbyes and went back to the car where Helena was laying.
We visited earlier but decided to get her flowers so we left and came back. Where we found Helena passed out by a gravestone. I knew she had been chucked out so her bags must have been here somewhere.
I ordered Mikey to get them whilst I looked at the gravestone it read ‘Jared Delgado. Loving Father, Loving Husband’ I then picked her up and took her back to the car.
*The Next Morning*
Helena had been asleep all night and I was a little bit concerned, but then Mikey kept reassuring me it was normal. We warmed Helena up by Dressing her in some of my pyjamas and then wrapping her in blankets.
I know what you’re thinking; we didn’t strip her down completely naked, she still had her bra and knickers on.
I went in there to check on her after having a restless sleep on the sofa.
“Hel, you awake?” She opened her eyes slowly and looked around, I decided that I would have to explain myself
