TEENAGERS 2.0

1

Spring break just got out, which means that I have to go back to school with a 4.0 GPA. To me, I'm not even that smart. I don't know how I managed to pull that off. The teachers thought that I had one of those special rains that just happen to know basically everything. I know there is a name for that I just can't come to think. Wait. Photographic memory. That's it! Pshh. I wish I actually had one of those. I would put it to good use. For example, using it to actually remember peoples birthdays. Birthdays are probably the hardest things for me to remember. No matter how many times I'm reminded I will always seem to forget. That's just horrible...

--------------------------

"Gerard, wake up!" my mom yelled up the stairs. I'm surprised she even had enough voice to reach my bedroom door at the top of the stairs. "You're going to be late for school!!"

I grunted and turned to look at my alarm clock that failed to go off, considering my mom had to give me a wake up call. When my eyes finally adjust I could finally read the clock. It read 6:30 am.

"CRAP!!" I yelled as I rushed to get out of my bed and ended up on the floor somehow. I didn't even know why I was so anxious to get out of bed. I hate school...

I got up, took my clothes off an rushed into the shower, quickly turning on the water. I yelped at first because the water came out very cold. But then it finally turned warm. I reached for my coconut scented shampoo and squirted some into my hands and begun to lather it through my hair. I quickly rinsed it out and squirted conditioner into my hair. This time I let it settle in my hair. During the waiting time I grabbed for the body wash. When I was done, I rinsed off my body and my hair at the same time.

I quickly turned off the water and wrapped myself in my towel and headed back to my room. I dried myself off and walked over to my dresser. I pulled out a pair of briefs and slid them on. I grabbed my favorite pair of black skinny jeans and slid them on also. They had holes in the knees and hugged my legs in all the right places. I walked over to my closet and pulled put an All American Rejects t-shirt. I threw it on and walked to the bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth and blow dried my hair. Then styled it as usual. When I was happy with my results, I smiled at my reflection and grabbed my backpack that was sitting on the edge of my bed. I ran down the stairs into the kitchen. When I got down there I saw my mom making toast. She handed me a piece. Without hesitation I took it from here and started headed out the door.

"Goodbye mom. I love you!" I said shutting the door behind me.

As usual, Ray was waiting for me outside. I walked over to his car and opened the back door and threw my backpack onto the backseat then hopped into the passenger seat.

"What's your problem, Gerard?" You look kind of out of it today," Ray said.

"Oh nothing...I'm just tired that's all. Not really in the mood to go back to school today you know?"

"Yea I know how that is." Ray laughs a little. "I just wanted to sleep in today but I kind a miss school in a way."

"I don't miss it one bit. That place is basically a pile of crap."

"True. But don't forget that you are probably the smartest kid in school."

"That's because they don't really teach us anything hard in school. It's just the same thing over and over again. So it's kind of hard for us to forget."

Ray looks at me one last time then looks back at the road. He has one hand on the wheel and one resting on the window. I continue looking out my window staring at absolutely nothing. I turned my head so that I was looking out the front only to see we were pulling into the parking lot of a building. We arrived at school. I really didn't want to be here but it's not like I have anything better to do I guess.
