As Days Fade, and Nights Grow
Part 2
"Yes, I did," Gerard asnwered.
"W-what do you mean?" I stuttered.
He sighed, "when a vampire is born there is a human born to be its mate. If the human dies before the vampire can find them, the human is reincarnated until the vampire does find them."
"Oh. How long have you been looking?" I whispered again, looking at the ground.
"Over 500 years," he whispered back.
"That's a long time."
He nodded, "and you look more beautiful every time." I blushed at his words.
I looked into his eyes and we just stood there for a few minutes.
"Bie me," I whispered, barely audible.
He looked taken aback by my demand. "What? No."
"No one here likes me, and I have no family or friends. I want to stay with you."
"No. My life is terrible. I know no one. I'm alone. I won't do that to you."
"I'm just going to die again, and you'll be alone."
He sighed again, "there is another way and you won't become a vampire.
"What is it?" I asked eagerly.
"People tel me it's very painful for the both of us. More you than me though," he informed reluctanly. "I could never do anything to cause you pain."
"I don't care. I want to be happy and I want to be happy with you."
"Okay." He glanced around. "Come on." He grabbed my hand and everything passed us in a blur. When we stopped and I could see again I noticed we were standing by mosoleum doors. I saw a bottle of alcohal out of the corner of my eye as Gerard pulled me inside.
The mosoleum was completly empty. Gerard dragged me into the middle of the room and turned to face me.
"So what is this going to do if I won't be a vampire?" I questioned.
"I'll be human. And when one of us dies the other will die shortly after," he told me.
"Really so you'll be exactly like a human?"
He nodded, "I will be human."
"So what do I have to do?" I asked.
"You have to cut me and drink my blood. The painful part will be the poison of my blood running through your veins, but your blood will be cured. Then I have to drink your blood and that cure me."
"Okay. Let's do this."
