Cemetery Drive

Lilies

Hearing about Gerard being on his own for a few days, I thought it would be nice to do something for him. This unfortunately might be the only chance he gets to be relaxed and be happy. I can see in his face that he normally isn’t happy, just when he looks at me. I can see his eyes grow bright and his smile isn’t fake. It makes my heart race. As much as it did when I was with Jamia and Zacky. Before Zacky started to abuse me, that is.

After a long thought, I figured out what to do for Gerard. To be fair. It’s a bit far out, since we haven’t been together for so long, but I don’t care. I am sure he will love it. I bet Bert never did anything so sweet for him.

Or anyone at that fact. From what I can tell, he only has been with Bert and unfortunately, he was with him for many years. I sighed and took a glance at what I have prepared for Gerard. It’s breath taking at the sight. I smiled to myself, thinking of his face brightening to this. I’m just lucky to have someone as sweet as Gerard in my half dead life.

After admiring what I have prepared I went to my room to change. I would’ve kept my white shirt and red tie on, but they are a bit dirty and they don’t really say ‘hopeless romantic’. I shrugged and went with an old black shirt and put on another red tie I owned. I am a fan of red ties. I walked back out and smiled. Gerard will love this.

As I was walking out to head to the Cemetery to find Gerard, I looked the lilies that I had displayed and took one. I thought it would be nice to give Gerard a lily, before he saw what I have planned. That and he would appreciate the gesture. I locked my door and headed to the Cemetery, happily humming as I played with the rose. I know he will love this. Jamia did and I am sure he will as well. Although I used roses on her.

Hard for me to admit it, but I am starting to lose interest in her. I think it’s about time I did. I know I would never be with her and my mind already accepted that, but my heart isn’t there yet. I sighed and continued to walk to the Cemetery. After a bit of walking, I was practically skipping to the Cemetery at this point. I am just too excited to see Gerard.

Once I got there, I went through the rusted gate and headed to the mausoleum. My heart raced faster than I knew it could. I didn’t think I was capable for that. I have to calm down, before opening the doors to the mausoleum. I don’t want Gerard to see me shaking. Me being nervous was surprising to me. I’ve never been nervous before. I also didn’t feel anything towards anyone till I met Gerard. That is after I died. I took a big deep breath and opened the doors, coming across a very clean Gerard. He turned around and smiled at me.

I froze, blushing. He looks so much better with his face being untouched. You can see his scars fading and his beautiful pale skin. I didn’t notice before, because I thought it was a black eye, but he has a bit of eyeliner on. I felt myself smile and blush harder. Gerard noticed and giggled. He got up, setting down his sketchbook before he walked over to me. He wrapped his arms around my neck and pecked my lips.

I shyly smiled at him and lifted the lily in my hand. I gave it to him and just watched the expression on his face. He got a startled look, but it went to a smile as he blushed. He took the lily and examined it, with a huge smile on his face. This is both beautiful and sad. How happy about the rose makes me happy, but HOW happy he is proving that Bert never did anything like this for him.

“Frankie.” He murmured.

He looked up and made eye contact with me. I felt myself blush and my heart race faster.

“It’s beautiful.”

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his waist, pulling him closer to me. He giggled, burying his face into my neck. Something he likes to do.

“I have a surprise for you.” I whispered in his ear.

He pulled away, shock written all over his face. I just chuckled and kissed his cheek.

“Go get your sketchbook.”

I let go of him and he smiled, nodding. He walked back to me, clutching the sketchbook. I chuckled and took one of his hands off the sketchbook and held it. He blushed from the action and hid his face with all his hair.

“Stop being so cute. It’s killing me.” I said.

He looked up, still smiling. He began to walk when I did. After walking a bit, I glanced at him, seeing he was looking down. I frowned, stopping in my tracks. Gerard followed my action, still looking down.

“Gerard? Are you okay?” I asked concerned.

“I-I-I’m just thinking.” He said looking up.

“About what?”

“O-On what y-you have p-planed. I-I trust you F-Frankie, but I a-am scared.”

I frowned more, if that was possible and pulled him into a hug.

“Gerard, you don’t have to worry. I would never do anything that would make you uncomfortable. All I had planned was a nice dinner.”

“That’s sweet.” He whispered.

I hummed, running my hand up and down his back. When I pulled away I took the lily from his hand and stuck it behind his ear. I smiled on how cute he looked with the lily.

“Come on.” I said, intertwining our fingers again.

He smiled and continued to walk.
___
“Close your eyes, Gerard.” I said.

He squinted, trying to tease me that his eyes are closed. I laughed and kissed him.

“Please Gerard. I already told you what I have planned, I don’t want to ruin how it looks like.”

“Alright Frankie.” He said and closed his eyes.

I smiled and turned around to unlock my door, before taking Gerard’s hand in mine and leading him inside. I let go of him for a second, so I could close and lock the door, before returning to Gerard. I intertwined our hands and led him to the kitchen. Our food was in the oven to stay warm, so when he opens his eyes all he will see is a vase with a bunch of lilies and candles. To add to this, the lights were dimmed, so it made things more romantic and sweet.

“Stay right here Gerard. Don’t open your eyes till I say so.”

I kissed his head as he nodded. I walked over to the oven, opening it letting the scent of our meal go through my apartment. I smiled and grabbed a towel to grab the plates, in case they were hot. I gently placed them on each side of the table, before closing the oven and setting the towel aside.

“Frankie! That smells really good.” He cheered.

I hummed and walked over to him, getting behind him. I snaked my arms around his waist and buried my face into his neck. He jumped, but then relaxed as he realized it was me. I am shorter than Bert, so you can’t mistake me as him on this.

“Open your eyes.” I whispered as I kissed his neck.

“Frankie. T-This is beautiful.” He gasped.

“All for you Gerard.”

He turned around to face me, wrapping his arms around my neck. He leaned down and kissed me softly. I always melt into his touch when I feel his lips. They are warm and soft. It’s like a heaven for me. I know I’ve said things about heaven, but what I think heaven is. Is Gerard. He pulled away and I frowned at the loss of contact with him. He noticed and giggled before sealing his lips with mine once again. I pulled away and nuzzled his neck.

“As much I enjoy kissing you, we need to eat our food before it gets cold.” I whispered.

“Can we kiss more after dinner?” He asked.

I pulled away so I can make eye contact with him. I gave him a smile and pecked his cheek.

“We can do whatever you want. Tonight, is all about you.”

He smiled wide and pulled me closer to him by my neck. His arms are still around my neck.

“I am lucky I got someone so sweet like you.”

“I say the same thing.”

He giggled, gently pulling away to push me. I laughed and kissed the side of his head. He blushed and I laughed more. Damn he is cute. I stuck my hand out for him to grab it. He grabbed my hand as I smiled at him. I then led him to his seat and one handedly pulled out his chair for him. He smiled at me and sat down. I pushed him towards the table and kissed his cheek before I walked to my seat. I sat down and looked at Gerard who was admiring the lilies.

“You like lilies?” I asked.

He snapped his gaze towards me and nodded, with a gentle smile on his face.

“They are both horrifying and beautiful.”

I raised my brow and looked at him. He just chuckled and carried on.

“Lilies are the flower of death. They have a sad meaning, but I find them beautiful. It amazes me how life and death can create something so amazing that’s living, dedicated to the dead. As if the living and the dead are friends. They are in a way. We both share the same interests and we both shared the same air and soon for any of us we can share the same ground.”

I just smiled, listening to him. He is passionate about life and death just as I assumed. He is also passionate about life and death like me. He just sees more of the beauty of it than I do. I see is as a home.

“It’s truly beautiful seeing the plants surrounding the Cemetery. How mushrooms appear as our body and flowers decay. With a new death and new life appears. Our body decay and a beautiful mushroom grows. The flowers decay and insects come and feast on it just like our body. It reminds me of reincarnation. How you die and come back as something beautiful. You are proof that reincarnation exists Frankie.”

I grinned and nodded. He blushed and looked down at his meal, that is almost gone.

“Have I been talking the entire time?” He says shyly.

“Yes, but I don’t mind. I like hearing how passionate you are towards life and death. How you find all of it beautiful like I do. Your eyes are more artistic than mine, so you can go into detail of how much you love life and death and about reincarnation. I believe in reincarnation myself, but I also believe in the after-life, from experience.”

It was now his turn to smile and nod.

“I believe only some get to be reincarnated and the others either suffer a hell or go to an after-life. It’s scary to think of, but when you have seen a lot of gruesome stuff and hang out at a Cemetery that’s not something we worry about.”

“We think alike. I like that.” Gerard said.

“Yeah.” I said smiling.

Gerard is making me think of things. It seems like we are meant to be. I know that sounds stupid, but I can see myself going somewhere with him in the future. I know I loved Jamia, but the only future I thought for us was ‘is she going to be taking me to the doctors in the morning or will she scream and run?’ With Gerard. I can see myself with him till he dies.

“Thanks for the dinner Frankie. It’s been awhile since I had a plate full of food to eat.” He said.

“I can tell.” I said sadly, getting up from my seat to clean out plates.

I put the plates in the sink and turned around and saw he was looking down, his right-hand clawing at his left hand. I walked towards him and knelt.

“Gerard, I am not mad. I-I am worried about you.” I said reassuringly

Gerard looked at me, tears starting to form. I stood up and pulled him up, pulling him into a tight hug.

“It’s okay Gerard. I can always make you food.” I said, my lips against his hair.

“I would like that very much Frankie.” He sniffed.

I pulled away and looked at him. I examined his cute face and saw no tears streaming down his face. I smiled and kissed his beautiful lips. He smiled against the kiss and wrapped his arms around my neck. I chuckled and pulled away.

“What do you want to do now?” I asked.

“I just want to make out with you. Your lips are soft.”

“Surprisingly that what I wanted to do as well.” I said.

He blushed and sealed his lips to mine. I chuckled, smiling into the kiss.

After making out, our lips were sore, so we settled on watching Tim Burton’s “Mars Attack” as we cuddled on my couch. I picked out the movie, since it’s one of my favorite movies from Tim Burton and well the aliens are adorable and funny. I knew Gerard would like it and I was proven right when he was laughing at the movie. I wouldn’t say the movie is a comedy, but how cute the aliens are; just makes it funny.

Gerard pretty soon drifted asleep. I sighed and ran my hand through his hair, enjoying the sight of this beautiful man, who still has the lily behind his ear. I turned off the tv and kissed the side of his head, gently getting up as I carried him to sleep on my bed. I tucked him in as I took off my tie and my shirt. I crawled into bed and Gerard quickly wrapped his arms around me. I chuckled, wrapping my own arms around him. He smiled before yawning.

“Goodnight Frankie.” He murmured, sleepy.

I kissed the top of his head, before responding.

“Goodnight Gerard.”

“As lead rains on your bullets, can lead to your gun being loaded. Unload your gun, what’s next can’t be undone.”

Was the last thing I thought of before going to sleep.

@Three.cheers.for.sweet.frerard
Hey it's fine don't worry, I'm sorry for reading and then forgetting to comment, fabulous chapter by the way. I'm so happy that Bert has gone, but just worried that he might come back. And I feel really sorry for Frank because he can barely feel emotions still. Great update though. :)

@The pink flamingos return
Sorry for responding late DX Either way it would've still had the big tension but not as big cause in the next chapter what I originally had planned was just a straight "oh shit he's alive" I do prefer the way I ended up writing it anyways. Anygay I'm glad you're looking forward for next updates. See ya soon :P

@Three.cheers.for.sweet.frerard
Oh, the alternative did sound good but I prefer the ending you wrote because of all the masses of tension that it built up before going: oh, wait. He's still alive.
I will definitely stick around and looking forward to the next chapter. :)
