I'm not fuckin' gay
One
Growing up on the shitty side of Jersey wasn't really anything big. But being gay on the shitty side of Jersey..well actually that wasn't really a big thing either. No one really cared, but no one there was gay. Well, with the exception of Gerard Way, of course. Gerard was flaming, and that's no understatement. I mean, the boy wore eyeliner to school. He might as well have just put a sign above his head that says "Hey, I'm gay!", but regardless of his sexual preferences, he still got along with almost everyone. Well, everyone except a certain small group of misfits, but we'll get into that later.
It was the first day of senior year, and honestly Gerard was excited. He was ready to be out of this hell hole and move to New York where he could publish his comics. He had everything planned out and the only thing stopping him right now was time.
Gerard was a very intricate person. Although he didn't really give a shit what people thought of him, he still took his time on his appearance. He swore up and down that he did it for himself though, and not so he could get that one kid's attention. You know, the one with the tattoos. What was his name again? Oh, it doesn't matter anyways. Gerard knew it was a pathetic little crush and he couldn't wait to move so he could meet more people with the same homosexual ways as him.
Anyways, back to him getting ready. Gerard, being the diva he was, needed to look better than everyone else. He usually did anyways, but he liked to make sure everyone knew it. He decided on a black rolling stones shirt and a pair of black jeans. He put on a red cardigan to add that special dash of color, and did his eyeliner like he did every morning. Then when he was finally ready to go, after looking himself over about ten times, he went out to his car with a cup of coffee in hand, and began his ten minute drive to school.
When he had finally found a parking spot, and checked his makeup once again in the small mirror in his car, he walked to the front of the school, where his friends and his brother were waiting for him. His brother lived with his dad, so the only time he really ever saw him was at school. Mikey and Gerard were very close and they planned to both move to New York together.
"Hey guys." Gerard said in a tired voice upon reaching his small clique.
"Gerard, did you dye your hair again?" Ray asked in a confused voice.
"Yeah, I was getting tired of the red, so I went with black." He said with a small smile.
"Oh, it looks good." Ray reassured him.
"It makes you look emo as fuck." Mikey snorted. Gerard chose to ignore Mikey's comment as he ran his hand through his hair. Gerard knew he looked good and honestly he didn't need anyone's approval on anything he did.
"I don't even remember when class starts." Ray said, interrupting Gerard's thoughts about himself.
"Soon, I'm sure. What's your first class?" He said.
Ray shrugged. "I think it's biology but honestly I'm too lazy to pull my paper out of my bag."
"I have biology first, so just come sit in with me and see if they call your name during attendance."
They agreed on their overly complicated plan, rather than just pulling Ray's schedule out of his bag, and they all proceeded to their classes.
It turned out that Ray did have biology, which Gerard was thankful for because now he had someone to talk to while he ignored his lessons. Gerard really didn't give a shit about school. He only liked the social aspect of it, though. He liked people, but not homework.
Gerard's second class ended up being creative writing which he was okay with. The class was very easy. You just write whatever you want and get an A. Easy peasy.
Well, he thought it would be a pretty easy class to get through but that changed when he walked in late and realized the only open seat was next to the boy with tattoos. Fuck, what was his name? Gerard shrugged it off and sat down in the chair next to him. The boy glanced at Gerard then rolled his eyes, slowly scooting his chair in the opposite direction of Gerard.
"Fucking faggot" he let out under his breath. Obviously Gerard has heard things like that before in his life, but it still didn't change the hurt and annoyance he felt upon hearing it.
"Sorry what was that?" The teacher was staring intently at the tattooed boy.
"Is there any way I could sit somewhere else? Like maybe on the opposite side of the room?" He asked her. Gerard glared at him. The teacher could obviously see what was going on. I mean, everyone in the school knew Gerard was gay.
"No, I think that seat will do just fine for you, Frank." She said with a smirk. Frank! That was his fucking name. Gerard mentally slapped himself for not remembering something so simple. Also, thank god for this teacher. Gerard didn't know her fuckin' name either. He knew he would make a note to remember it though, since she had stood up for him a bit against the homophobic asshole Frank Iero.
