Room H271

Introducing Creature

I couldn't sleep without knowing where Frank was. I occasionally seemed to drift in and out of consciousness before snapping awake in a cold sweat, leaving me trembling before my eyes began to close with the cycle then repeating itself. The room was pitch black, so dark that when I held my arm out in front of me I could barely see its outline. It was strange, usually the room seemed warm at night and although I had difficulties in sleeping I often drifted off (even if it was an uneasy sleep) eventually. But this time was different. The covers seemed thin and threadbare and clung to my skin as if they were trying to strangle me and squeeze all of the air from my lungs. I seemed to notice the noises around me more than usual, the ticking of the clock, the creaking of the floor, the footsteps along the corridor. Such quite and gentle noises seemed to pierce through my brain and the repetitive sounds made me repulsed and gave me a throbbing headache, which I can say does not make it by any means easier to get to sleep. Goosebumps riddled across the surface of my skin like some unwanted disease but still I lay there, unable to find a comfortable position to lay in. Despite the shivering my eyes drifted closed once again. The darkness caused by my closed eyelids just another shade of black night, as I felt myself slip gently away from reality.

With my eyes closed I did not see it approach.

My eyes shot open as I felt the covers on the bottom of my bed move slightly to the side, knowing that I had not moved as my muscles were too frozen from fear. I sat up immediately, clutching the covers and pulling them up to just underneath my eyes as I trembled slightly. A figure was sat at the bottom of the bed, their very skin seemed to glow with a pale grey light that emitted itself around the room, allowing me to see the figures strange features. The creatures face was half eaten, raw flesh mingling with the air that surrounded it and it looked as though rats had gnawed around its edges to produce a blood soaked outline. Through the dripping wet black hair that hung over creatures face and reached down its shoulders, a pair of staring eyes could be spotted. The menacing eyes simply watched my every move, the whites around the eyes non existent with grey filling up the entirety of the eye. Creature sat on the edge of my bed, its chest bare with ribs clearly visible, some poking out through the tired grey skin in odd directions, but it seemed oblivious to the blood that ran down and dripped onto my bed covers. Its hands, well, its hands wore no flesh, the bones creaking and scraping as it felt the material of the covers. It was only now when I looked creature properly in the eye that I saw its mouth, knife like teeth dropping down from the top of the mouth but I couldn't ignore its smile. The smile that seemed to continue forever. The cuts that had been carved messily from the edge of the mouth and up towards the ears, the skin bending and folding due to it being severed.
I watched as its lips moved and it spoke in a gnarly and whispered tone.

"Gerard....Frank......is.......now....gone..." It hissed, it's words cursed and grave, "dead..." Creature whispered, its voice rising as the temperature in the room seemed to copy, "Frank....is....dead...and...he...is...never...coming.....back...."
Its voice was persistent, it's lips hardly moving as it spoke.
"Frank?" I whispered, pulling my knees to my chest and backing away into the furthest corner.
"Frank....is...gone...now...here...I...am!" Creature hissed again as brought its ragged arms from the covers and clutched its forehead.
"Friend!" It cried. "Friend! Friend! FRIEND!!!" It screeched as it advanced towards me, crawling along the covers of the bed with its arms outstretched towards me.
"BEST FRIEND!!!" Creatures voice seemed to rise into an ear splintering pitch with its voice as an eagles. I tried to back up into the wall even more but felt the freezing wall press against my back. Its face was in front of mine now, I could smell the blood on its rotting face and almost smell the scent of the rats. Its wet hair dangled down and stuck onto my face and I screamed as I felt one of its exposed ribs touch my hand. It seemed unnerved as I did so.

"You...are....my....friend" It repeated now. I could scream no more as I felt its skeletal fingers on the side of my face, my screams had turned to simple pleads for help that escaped my mouth as whispers in an unforgiving darkness.
"You....are....my....friend....now"
I couldn't move. I tried. I tried to move and get away from it but all my muscles tensed. I tried my best to even turn my head but it didn't follow my instructions and refused them meaning that the only way that I could ignore it was to close my eyes. My chest tightened with every second and though I couldn't see it I knew that the figure was still there.
"You...are....my....best....friend..."

I tried to convince myself that it wasn't still there but it was no use. I felt as if I was going to die; as if this thing was either going to kill me or that my heart would rip through my chest and lay gasping for blood as it pulses on the floor.

"Gerard! Help me!" A voice spoke, a soft kind voice, a voice that I recognised immediately as belonging to Frank. My eyes darted open and there he was. Nothing to worry about. Franks simple and innocent form sat right in front of me, though the colours didn't seem quite right, he just seemed less bright as if he was being consumed as he faded into the surrounding darkness.
"Please....I hate h-"

Creature glitched in front of my very eyes. Franks pleads along with the crystal and sad green eyes switched back to the half eaten flesh face with the staring grey eyes. It stared at me as if looks could kill, as if it could see right through me, as if I didn't exist.

"You....are....my...friend." It chanted repeatedly, "you are my friend!!!"
"Gee!" I heard a voice whisper desperately, "Gee! It's taken me!"
"Frank!" I yelled as his face appeared in front of mine for a split second before being replaced by the half eaten one. Why was he leaving me? Who had taken him?

"Gee!" frank cried, "please..." His voice fizzled away like a used firework falling back down to the ground.

I screamed and clawed at the wall and it grabbed onto my arm, its spindly fingers gripped on tightly as it brought its other hand to its lips. Its mouth almost seemed to dislocate as if it were a snake as it pulled a sharp dagger like tooth from his mouth. My hair was beaded with sweat now as I tried to squirm away but it was no use: No amount of kicking or screaming could save me now. It brought the knife like edge down and pierced it through my skin, edging through my flesh as if it was simply writing on a piece on lined paper. Blood dropped from my arm as it created letter after letter in my arm. 6 letters in total. FRIEND. All I could do was let a single tear drop down my face as the stinging and numbness took over my entire body. Franks figure appearing before my eyes one last time before I slipped into unconsciousness.

Notes

Um. Sorry that this chapter was so weird, kinda explains what happened to Frank and kinda doesn't. Thank you for reading. I don't think I'll be able to write and update tomorrow or Sunday as I'm off to a wedding party thing or something like that. So next update will probably be Monday. Thank you. :D
