Frankie's POV

Prom was right around the corner with graduation following close behind. My nerves were getting worse as it inched closer to our graduating class' finish line, which meant it would just be me and Mikes next year. I've even talked to my mom about switching schools because lord knows how things are gonna go. But on the bright side, it was spring break and we all spent our whole vacation boozing it up and perfecting our prom takeover. Well almost all of us.

Something was up with Gerard. He was never around anymore. After school he would just vanish and we wouldn't see him for hours, then he'd show up out of the blue telling us he was drawing in the cemetery. None of us bought so I brought it up to Ri the other night that we needed to do something about it and fast.

"Do you think he's turned back to drinking?", Ri asked, you could hear the worry in her voice. I told her he'd never do that. No matter how bad things got, he always kept his word. "Then what could it possibly be?"

Her guess was as good as mine. Everything was going so well for him when he fell into this funk, so we were stuck. "We have to follow him.", she looked at me with fear in her eyes, "Ri, I'm serious. Think about it, he's been distant as fuck since we got back from winter break. The only time we see him is at school and he doesn't even talk to us anymore." He just stands there with a cigarette between his pale pink lips and a strange look in his eye as he watched the rest of us talk amongst each other. Emotionless like some kind of zombie.

He won't even respond to me anymore. He used to pull me into his arms as soon as I was in his sight. Now when I approach him all I get is a nod with a smirk. And when I kiss him, I've never felt him so lifeless, his lips had lost their rosy pink color and were as cold as ice. Just like the rest of his body. Almost as if he were dead.

Later that night, me and Ri parked outside of the Way house as we waited for anything to give us a lead. We had called him to see what he was doing and he said he had some business to take care of and he'd call us later. My heart dropped when I told him I loved him and all I got was a cold hearted "yeah" then the phone clicked. Ri saw the tears welling up in my eyes and instantly wrapped me in her arms. "Awh baby it's okay, he's just going through a rough patch with himself. Don't take it personal." She ran her fingers through my hair and kissed me on my forehead. We both jumped up when we heard a car door slam across the street. Donna and Mikey had gone to Rhode Island to visit family like they've done every year so Gee should've been home alone.

A tall, slender male figure leaned up against the shiny black mustang tapping his foot as if he was impatiently waiting for something. Gee came rushing out the house to approach the faceless man and gave him a quick hug. They were outside talking for about ten minutes before going inside. Ri looked over to me in disgust, "No, I know what you're thinking. He's not a cheater. I know that for sure." She rolled her eyes, then the man walked out of the house and left. I know Gee wouldn't cheat on me. Would he?

Gerard's POV

God, finally. I laid back in my mom's recliner in the black abyss of my living room as the burning sensation rushed up my body. I never wanted my life to come to this, but after a while I didn't give a fuck. It got rid of my problems and that's all I wanted. It's the only time I felt good and at peace with myself. After New Years, I turned into a nervous wreck and I couldn't stop it. It got to the point where I didn't know where else to go so I met up with my old friend Matt one night and he introduced me to my new salvation.

"I'm telling you. You need to relax. Just take an elongated sniff. It'll burn your first couple times, but you'll get used to it.", he said calmly. I lined up the white perfection and took the hit. Before I knew it, my body flooded with the sensation of euphoria. I had never felt anything like this before. It was like I was in a whole new world. My senses increased ten fold and I felt like I could do anything. That night I had willingly fallen slave to The Lady.

As I came down from my high, I was just about to call Frankie back when I heard excessive knocking at the door. I dropped my phone and dragged myself to the door. I opened the door with my head down shielding my eyes from the porch light. "Well it's nice to see you're alive Gerard.", said a voice I knew all to well. Frankie.

"Barely.", I said with a smirk. He didn't look amused. "What's wrong Frankie?"

"What's wrong? Are you seriously asking me what the fuck is wrong?", he said as he busted through the door, "Oh I don't fucking know Gerard. Maybe because you disappeared off the face of the earth. You know, maybe that's it." He was furious and I could see it in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Frankie, I've just been caught up in some bullshit.", I said pulling him into me.

He pulled away and turned his back on me, "But what kind of bullshit could be so important that you ignore all of your fucking friends? The people you claim are so fucking important to you. We're fucking worried about you. You could've been fucking dead for all we knew. How could you be so fuck-" Something had caught his eye and I already knew what it was. He walked into the living room and picked up the bag that withheld my new found happiness.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me."

Fuck.
