Until My Heart Explodes.

chapter 7

Her body was on fire. The more he ran his hands down her down, the more she felt ignited. Her core was throbbing, her breath was short, her face hot. He sank into her, though they were still fully clothed, she couldn’t help the moan that escaped her as he pushed into the spot between her legs.

“I missed you, I missed you.” Frank repeated after every kiss. She gripped at the shirt clothing his back. God, she missed him too.

He pulled apart from her for a second with hesitation. His eyes were wild with lust, his pupils so dilated, his hazel-greens were almost black. His eyes darted from her face and downward as in asking for permission. Spencer opened her mouth to speak but...

THUMP! THUMP!

“Frank!” Ray shouted. Frank winced but quickly stiffened over Spencer.

Spencer slid out from under Frank in a fast, fluid motion. She straightened her clothes, composed her face and didn’t bother to look back at an agitated Frank as she crossed the room to open the door.

She unlocked the door swiftly and swung the door open. Ray flinched back in surprise. He hadn’t expected her. Spencer grinned at the guitarist, but he narrowed his eyes at her.

“What are you doing?” he asked. Spencer smirked.

“We’re working on music.” At this moment, Spencer turned back and waved a hand at Frank.

He had sat up on the edge of the bed, a music book and pencil in his hand. There was a drumming pad and drumsticks next to him.

“I had worked on some tunes with Bob. He didn’t want to help Frank come up with his parts so he asked me.” Spencer told him.

Ray’s eyes went from Spencer to Frank and back again. He left his eyes on Frank the final time.

“Jamia is here.”

Frank met Spencer’s eyes briefly, but nodded his head at Ray.

“Okay, send her in.” Frank said coolly. Spencer waved at Frank before she tried to slide out the room. Ray was blocking her way and she almost crashed into Jamia, who had just came up to Frank’s door.

“Jamia! Shit! I’m sorry! I didn’t see you there.” Spencer apologized. She gave the confused girl a quick side hug and then sped through to the kitchen.

Spencer leaned against a kitchen counter and took in a deep breath. Fuck. She tried gathering her thoughts but she couldn’t get her emotions in check. She was horny, extremely horny, surprised at almost being caught, and angry for letting Frank seduce her like that. She huffed. She was stupid… that was it. She was a stupid girl.

She was busy arguing with herself that she didn’t notice Ray coming into the kitchen.

“What were you doing?” Ray asked her. He went over to sit on the one of the stools. He was sitting in the same place Frank had eaten his breakfast that morning. Spencer meekly smiled and shrugged her shoulders.

“What do you mean?” she asked back. Ray rolled his eyes. She was starting to see what Frank meant by Ray being angry all the time. His afro was getting puffier by the second. His cheeks were flush with heat. Yup, he was mad.

“You’re not stupid so stop trying to be.” He lashed out in a tone Spencer had never heard him use before. It was so livid and nasty as if he was spitting out venom at her.

“Whatever you and Frank are up to, needs to stop. It needs to end, now!”

Spencer snickered.

“Don’t try to act like you know what is going on between us. You only just figured it out and it wasn’t even you who did the math. Mikey had to put it all together for you and Gee. So stop being big brother and mind your own business.” Spencer hashed out before she could stop herself.

“Frank is my business. We don’t need you to be interfering with our work. He was already messed up when you left and I don’t need him even more fucked up when you decide to jump again.”

Spencer laughed, a good hearty laugh.

“Wow, Ray. Is that what you think? I saved your band and you knew from the start that I wasn’t always going to be in the band! You all knew that my time here was going to be short. Don’t be upset with me that you didn’t have back up plan.”

Ray hopped off his stool and came around the counter to stand in front of Spencer. He towered over her, almost by a foot, but she wasn’t intimidated by him. She had never been as angry as she was now at him before, but she wasn’t going to back down.

“I’m telling you to end things because we don’t need all that drama. Things are already bad around here. Gee is still sick, Mikey is MIA, and I’m on the verge of quitting. Frank doesn’t need this.” Ray motioned with his hands at Spencer.

She rolled her eyes.

“Frank is a big boy, Ray. I think he can decide for himself whether or not he wants to make good or bad choices.”

“I hate that you have no sense of right or wrong, Spencer. You and Frank are simply a mess. But he’s engaged now and he needs to be doing right by that. There’s consequences for shit like this.” Ray exclaimed.

“I have nothing to lose so I will do what I want, when I want. Frank can put up his own fight as well.” Spencer said though her voice quivered at the end.

“You could lose him.” Ray tried to reason. Spencer shrugged.

“Never. He needs me. If what you say about him being a mess without me is true, then there’s no way he could ever let me go.”

“Yeah? So why is he engaged to someone else and not you?”

Spencer drew back. That was a hit below the belt. She could see it on Ray’s face that he regretted the statement as soon as he said it. Ray reached out to her but she shoved his arm away. She screamed, a blood curdling scream.

“You’re an asshole, Ray! You just don’t understand!” She yelled. She yelled it loud enough to make almost everyone in the house come and see what was going on. Frank and Jamia, Bob, even Gerard.

“Spencer…” Ray whispered, his eyes went from hers to wandering around to all the surrounding people. Gerard made to step forward but Ray’s eyes gave him a warning not to. Frank had also came forward, but Bob pulled him back by the shirt.

“C’mon Spence, I’m sorry. I… I didn’t mean that. I know that you lo—“

“Do NOT call me Spence.” Her eyes were manic and watery. She stiffened back her tears and walked out the kitchen, ignoring everyone’s stares. She slammed the front door of the house behind her. She didn’t know where was going. Just that she needed to get out of there.

She paced the front lawn and almost bumped into Mikey on her third time around. Mikey furrowed his brows at his sister. He bit his lower lip as he tried to read the expression on her face. Then without a word, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and led her to his car.

“Let’s get shitfaced.” He said.
