Frank watched Charlie's chest rise and fall limply. Tubes were sticking out of a every place a tube could stick out of a person pushing food, oxygen and water in and out of their system. forcing life in and and out of them with each beep of the monitor. He thought of the accident in detail for the first time since it happened. He had watched Charlie step out of the van and onto the road. Tears clouded Franks vision as he went over the sight of Charlie's once strong body being thrown around like a puppet with only one string and their limbs flailing manically. Frank throat burnt with grief and horror The click of a doctors footsteps woke Frank from his thoughts. He blinked away the last of the tears before the doctor began to explain. As the doctor divulged Charlie's vegetative state to Frank he could not help but notice his absence of feeling. Frank had prepared himself thoroughly for the outcome that Charlie might never wake and was both numb and disgusted with his own numbness. Charlie's family had decided to flick the switch.
