Art teachers are better than you think

Frank came back at lunch, he sat in his usual seat and started doing something for his music class. So naturally I took a wander over there to see what he was doing. Lyrics. He was writing lyrics. Such beautiful lyrics, to an obviously deep song.
"Those are pretty awesome Frank! What made you think of them?" Songwriting has been another passion of mine but sometimes they get hard to write, so I'm curious as to how they are just flowing through him so naturally.
"Nothing really. They just came to me." No eye contact, just a very serious and monotone voice to escape his lips. Deep in thought probably.
"Frank can I ask you something?" He put his pen down, sighed and eventually looked up to me. He watched as I sat next to him, no surprises if my face shows the concern I'm trying to hide, unfortunately my facial expressions are something I am terrible at hiding. Which means people can read me easily. Unlike Frank.
"Sure. Knock yourself out." His voice still laced with the same tone.
"How is everything at home? I heard about your grandparents. I'm sorry. I know what that's like." I'm better of stopping there before I start rambling.
"Everything's fine." Ouch stern much?
"Talk to me if you need to. Okay?" Reassurance maybe the way forward with this kid? I don't know. He has got a very high barrier set that he does not want to take down. But who can blame him? I did when I lost my grandmother. I just hope he is safe.
He didn't respond just went back to writing his lyrics. So I got up an walked over to my desk where I had been previously. I just hope I can get through to him soon. Nobody deserves to feel alone.

Sorry this is such a short chapter, I have plans for the next chapter, unfortunately trying to out those ideas in to this chapter wouldn't have made any sense and would have made it really shit.
So I'm sorry you guys have been waiting for ages for a short shitty entry but I promise the next one will be awesome!
