Jilted generation
Refused
So bassically, it's Friday and I've been home all day again. But this time I couldn't make it down stairs and could only manage trips between my bed and the bathroom when I felt like I was going to throw up again. My mum wasn't working today though so she came up to my room with half a slice of toast and some water, we talked for a while but then I said that I'd like to be alone and she understood what I meant. She even helped me when my stomach was still trying to empty itself, even though there was nothing left.
To be honest, mum was right. I couldn't have gone to school today. And that was okay, I suppose. I would like to have talked to Quinn sooner about my doctors appointment and therapy session, but I also just wanted to know that she was okay and well. That was all. But I could see her on Monday. Yes, I was looking forward to Monday already. At least I had something to look forward to. Monday. Only had to be trapped inside this house for another 2 days, that's if I wasn't still ill on Monday, but I'd try my best. But to be honest with you I hate it when people say: 'just focus on getting better'. I can't force myself to stop being sick and I don't think that the fact that I'm bored out of my mind helps me get better either.
It was only when it got to about half past 3 that something actually happened that wasn't me being sick or crying again.
I heard Gerard waltz through the door and dump his bag on the floor like he always did. He dived up the stairs and I heard his footsteps grow louder and louder as he grew closer and closer towards me. I could tell that it was something important by the fact that he was running, Gerard never usually ran unless he had to or was being chased around with a spatula. Exercise just wasn't his thing.
"Mikey!" He panted, bursting into my room. I sat up, resting my head against the wall.
"What?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Hi!"
"What do you want, Gee?" I asked. He walked over to me.
"Am I forgiven, Mikes? Can you forgive your favourite brother?" He whispered with a smile.
"Gerard...."
"What?"
"You're my only brother...." I replied.
"Oh, yeah."
"But you're forgiven anyway." I said back, after pondering over the subject for a while.
"Thank you, Mikes." He replied with, still panting. The high amount of exercise must have taken it out of him.
"Oh, um. Yeah! I need to tell you something Mikes!"
"What about?" I asked looking confused.
"It's about your friend."
"Quinn?"
"Yeah"
"Oh god! Is she okay? Is she hurt? Where is she?" I panicked.
"She's fine Mikey. She wouldn't tell anyone, not even me, at school. She said she had to tell you in person."
"Tell me what?" I asked desperately, swinging my legs out of my bed.
"I don't know!" Gerard exclaimed, "but she wants to meet you now! Said that it has to be before half past 4! By the park about 5 minutes from her house!"
I tried to stand up and on my third attempt I managed to get my shaking legs to hold up my weight. I stumbled over towards Gerard and headed for the door. I grabbed my phone and shoved it in my pocket. "You coming?" I asked, turning back to face him before I headed off down the stairs.
"No. She said just you, Mikes. Just you."
"Okay." I smiled.
I headed down the steps slowly, but conscious that the time was ticking. I eventually made it and sat at the bottom of the stairs. I grabbed my shoes and slipped them onto my feet and then I pulled myself back to my feet using the coats that hung on the wall. I headed over to the door, the keys jingling against each other as I unlocked the door. I had almost sneaked through the door when I felt a hand on my shoulder and it was pulling me back inside.
"No, Mikey!" It cried, tugging me back through the door sharply. "I can't let you go out! You aren't well! You could get hurt!"
"No! Mum!" I tried to shout through my irritated throat.
"Mikey! Get back here!"
"I need to go, mum! Please!"
Gerard heard all the shouting and ran down the stairs. I could tell that he was tired from all the 'running' that he had been doing.
"Mum! He has to go and see Quinn!" He shouted, defending me.
"Gerard! You're little brothers not well! You were going to let him go out by himself when you know that he's still seriously ill?!" She shouted back, trying to pull me into a hug.
"B-b-but......" We both stammered.
My mum headed towards the door and locked it putting the keys in her jacket pocket. She carried me into the living room and placed me on the sofa.
"You'll get to see her on Monday, Mikes. I promise. Just wait until Monday, Okay?" She whispered as she left my room.
And that's why I'm still here now, writing the days events down in this stupid little book with a stupid little title. How could she just stop me from going to see her like that? It wasn't fair! But there was no point in trying to argue back as I would never win. I just had to wait 'till Monday. A smile creeped onto my face. All I had to do was survive the weekend.
