Stained Red
Stained Red
Once upon a time in a far away land there was a fair maiden. His name was Gerard, but his friends just called him Gee. Gee did not actually have normal friends either, they were mostly animals and flowers, one was even a prince but we will get to that later in the story. One day Gee was in his garden playing with the possums and chatting with the birds. This puzzled a young handsome Prince passing by on horseback. How does one only have animals as friends? Why does he have no friends? The Prince pondered all this and doing so he did not realize he was staring right at Gee and he was returning the gaze the Prince gave him. Now there was a curse on poor Gee, he could not have any human friends, well at least until the witch that put the curse on him was dead. What the witch did not know was that the curse only pertains to friends and not lovers or potential lovers. Not knowing this the witch was furious that his curse only worked so long, from what he thought, birth to the age of 17. The witch was exactly 23 years older than Gee, born at the same hour on the same day. In that time your successor was born on the same day you were, but there was no one in the land who's successor was born at the same hour. This is what made the witch afraid of Gee, hence why he put the wretched curse on him.
Gee had never seen a human before so he was interested in the Prince immediately. He was fairly handsome and had a charming smile his horse was stunning and his clothes were like none Gee had ever seen before.
It took awhile but the Prince finally realized that he had been staring intensely at Gerard. He finally worked up the courage to say hello and ask him his name.
My name is Gerard, but please, call me Gee, Gee said, what is your name?
My name is Frankie, uh Prince Frankie, you can call me Frank if you want, that is what my friends call me.
What is a friend? Gee asked curiously cocking his head to the side as if he did not understand.
Frank exclaimed, Why a friend is someone you do stuff with like playing, dancing or singing! You know together, with each other. Frank wondered why he had to explain what a friend was to Gee, he seemed nice. Did he maybe have something to hide?
While Frankie was pondering this the witch passed by to do a routine check on Gee, to his surprise he was talking to a Prince, soon to be the Royal Lord our King, Frankie. Finding this out the witch became furious, fore his plan did not work. With quick thinking he cut down a tree so that Gee and his Prince friend wold run away and be too scared to see each other again.
CRACK.
Gee what was that? Frankie questioned Gee immediately.
I have not the slightest idea what that noise was, Gee answered quickly, maybe it was one of the bears.
Bears? Bears? Bears! Oh dear fair maiden, please come with me and you will be safe from those wretched bears. Do come, I would like you to meet my father The Royal Lord our King. Frankie replied panicked, almost shaking with fear, but he must appear strong and powerful to his damsel in distress, or he would make a fool of himself and loose Gee forever.
Now the witch's plan was taking effect, the tree was slowly falling and headed straight towards The Prince and the fair maiden who he hated. But the witch soon realized one problem with his plan, the tree would soon crush the Prince and kill him. What good is a dead Prince to the covetous witch? Look out!! He yelled, run dear Prince!
Hearing this, Frankie looked up and saw the tree. When he looked back down Gee was gone, he had run back to the garden. With a loud crack of his whip Frankie rode away, back to the castle as fast as his horse would go.
Father! Father! I met this beautiful sweet maiden he was nice and almost queenly. I had to leave him though because of a falling tree. I shall return to him tomorrow. With those words he prepared for bed, ate dinner and slept.
Meanwhile The witch had disguised himself as an old woman and got a bunch of apples together, one would make him go into a deep sleep making him appear dead. No one will think to kiss him, he will be buried alive before that, the witch smirked to himself.
The witch went to Gee and found him in the garden, where he usually is, playing with the animals.
Help me won't you dear? The witch said with a croak.
Why yes, whatever is your trouble? Gee answered.
These apples are so heavy. Why I can't carry them! If you help me you may have them. The witch said carrying out his plan.
Of course I will! Gee said excitedly. He helped the witch get the apples in and ate one.
Here have another dear I hear the red ones are the rarest, which is why I only have one, I insist you have it. The witch demanded.
Gee took one bite and his jet black hair turned bright red and he collapsed to the floor.
There's a strange thing about magic, the witch didn't know, that if the curse is reversed then the curse comes on the witch his or herself.
The Prince returned to find Gee on the ground clutching a red apple just as the witch had left him. Gee? Gee? Oh please wake up! Please? No no no you can't be dead. Frankie mourned. He tried everything and gave him a kiss to wish him goodbye, fore he thought Gee was dead.
With the kiss two things happened. Gee woke up in Frankie's arms and was free of his curses and the witch, walking up to his castle at the time, dropped dead down the hill and broke his neck.
Frankie and Gee lived happily together and lived life to the fullest. The End
