Only One Way

The morning after I followed Gerard up to the cliff, I was getting ready for work. And smiling like an idiot, Gerard was going to come to the shop at lunch and I was more than a little excited. I was heading out the door when my phone buzzed

FROM:GERARD
(8:38 a.m.)

Mornin beautiful, can't
wait for our lunch date <3



my stomach went crazy with butterflies and I giggled


TO: GERARD
(8:40 a.m.)

Well I can't wait to see
your gorgeous face <3


I put my phone in my pocket and got in my car. I smiled a big cheesy smile all the way to the shop, but when I got there my smile faltered instantly. The window was smashed in and there were two cops standing outside, one was talking to the old lady that owns the bakery a few shops down from mine, and the other was taking pictures.
"What's going on?" I asked completely forgetting the giggly feeling I had just moments before. "There was a robbery, you Frank Iero?" The cop asked after excusing himself from the old lady. "Uh yeah, what do you mean there was a robbery?" "I mean that someone broke into your store and stole all the money." "Shit, fuck, shit!" This can't be happening I thought, walking into the shop with the officers permission. Everything was ruined, the shelves were tipped over, tons of the books and comics ripped to shreds. I ran over to the hidden doot where I kept my safe, and sure enough all the money was gone from there too.
I called Mikey (it might be suspicious if I called Gerard first), and he said he was gonna head over as fast as he could, and he was bringing Gee.
I walked over to talk with the officer, "do you have an idea of who would do this? " he asked, "No sir." "is there anyone who you owe money?" "No sir." I replied, and they pulled up, Mikey running out of the car and Gerard playing cool, although I could see the concern in his eyes.
"Oh god, are you okay Frank? What happened?" Mikey asked briefly hugging me. "I'm fine, but the store got robbed,they took all the money." "Even the stuff in the safe?" Gerard asked (I'd told him about it the night before), and Mikey gave him a funny look, "what safe?" "Nothing, the main thing is that I don't have any money."
"Then how are you gonna pay rent?" Mikey asked, his hand resting on my arm. "I don't know." I answered honestly, "I'll have to get another job, but rents due." "And you still haven't paid all the other months you missed." Gerard pointed out, and Mikey shot him that same look. "Shit your right, I'm gonna get kicked out." I thumped down on the steps and held my face in my hands. "You could stay with us?" Gerard supplied, acting like he didn't care either way, "that's an awesome idea!" Mikey squealed, "You can just stay with us! Oh Frank it'll be perfect, we'll help you move out tomorrow."
He placed a quick peck on my cheek and ran back to the car. I looked up at a smirking Gerard and he winked at me then strutted to the car, a little skip in his step, and I couldn't blame him. I was excited too.
