If I stay

I sat in the car, reading my new book my mother had just gotten me. I turned to see my little brother mikey playing with his toy unicorn. Dad turned up the music, it was classical, which I liked. ''Dad, are we almost home?'' I asked, turning the thin page on my book. ''Almost, just a couple more minutes'' He explained, focusing on the road. I sighed, all I could think of was going to Frank's gig tonight. He was so cute on stage.
When my dad pulled into the driveway, I didn't even notice, I was too lost in my book. I unclipped my seatbelt, and hopped out of the car, I grabbed a couple of grocery bags and started to walk inside. It was about 8:30 by the time we finished dinner, so I helped get Mikey ready for bed, I walked out of his room after settling him down and went into the bathroom. I undressed and stood inside the cubical. The burning hot water scolded my skin, leaving a red mark. I sighed in relief. I hopped out of the shower and started to get ready for bed. I walked into my room, plopped down on my bed and fell asleep straight away.

When I woke up, it was 7:00 am, which means I only had 10 minutes to get ready and get to school. I jumped out of bed, ran into the bathroom and got ready. On the way to school, I forgot I was supposed to go to Frank's gig last night.. Shit. Once I got to school, I went to my class.

''Mr. Way you're late, Explaination?'' My teacher asked, god, she was a bitch.

''Umm, I got up late...'' I sighed.

''Detention at lunch, no if's ands or buts'' she raised her voice. I nodded and sat down.
