Butterbeer Kisses

'Frank tell him that he's making the Questions for the quiz too difficult!' Lindsey groaned as the two were hunched over a piece of paper. Frank decided to go in today after receiving a rather mysterious and cryptic text message from Lindsey about how she couldn't do today on her own. He walked into the bookstore and saw it first. The banner. 'Harry Potter Day' Frank smiled to himself thinking about his obsessive childhood and early teen years reading and watching the Harry Potter franchise. When he worked his way through the cramped bookstore however he was hit by the uneasy air that surrounded the two best friends. They seemed to be quarrelling.

'They are not too hard! Gerard grumbled looking up for the first time since Frank stepped foot in the place. He had round glasses perched on his nose which Frank didn't even know he needed.

'Nobody knows the answers to any of these questions.' She exclaimed tearing the paper from his hand and reading off a question. 'Like...who knows the first line of the philosophers stone?' She laughed standing between the two boys.

'Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.” Frank and Gerard said in unison staring at each other smirking slightly. Lindsey looked between the two dumbfounded for thirty seconds before speaking again.

'Okay, okay.' She said scanning the paper trying to find another question. 'Ah ha! What was Dumbledores favourite flavour of Jam?' She smirked.

'Raspberry.' The two replied simultaneously and with a hint of irritation in their voices.

'Fucking nerds.' Lindsey said slamming the paper down on the desk and storming away, well more like hobbling away in her crutches.

'Don't mind her.' Gerard said bringing Franks attention back to him. 'She's just grumpy because she's still on crutches.' Frank nodded moving towards the desk and looking over at Gerard and smiling.

'Do you want help.' Frank said pointing to the paper in front of Gerard. He nodded smiling and Frank joined him by his side pressing into him a little. 'She's right you know?' Frank whispered.

'I know.' Gerard sniggered scribbling the jam question out.

'They are too hard.' Frank admitted as they both started to come up with questions. Gerard decided that the first line question was definitely staying in even after receiving some dirty looks from Lindsey from across the Bookstore. They studied the list of questions before turning towards each other and smiling triumphantly. Lindsey watched them, not so discreetly, from behind a Dickens novel.

'I never knew you were such a Harry Potter fan Iero.' Gerard said casually after staring at Frank for a little bit longer than what was both necessary and socially acceptable, but Frank didn't mind at all.

'There is a a lot you don't know about me...Way.' Frank added with a wink grasping the piece of paper from Gerard's hand and scribbling down on the title space. Now instead of 'Gerard Way's Quiz' it said 'Frank Iero and Gerard Way's Quiz'. Gerard peered over his right shoulder and huffed in his ear.

'That's way too long a title.' Gerard grumbled and gasped slightly when Lindsey appeared over Franks other shoulder.

'Maybe you should make it a mixture of both your names?' Lindsey said sweetly grabbing the piece of paper and scribbling down her own title.

'You know, if you two keep grabbing at the paper it's gonna rip!' Gerard moaned looking over at Frank as Lindsey giggled to herself and scribbled. Frank smiled at Gerard apologetically and then leaned to look over at the paper.

'Frerard's Quiz.' Frank read cautiously as Lindsey giggled and her eyes darted up to see Gerard's Reaction.

'Were you watching us?' Gerard said quickly trying to change the subject. 'From over there.' He pointed to her little arm chair in the corner of the store when she looked confused.

'No?' She said innocently. 'You guys are just incredibly loud. This is a bookstore.' She moved from between them and shoved Gerard closer to Frank and the shushed them as she sauntered away grabbing her novel and making her way back to the chair.

'She was watching us you know.' Frank whispered into his ear making his jump and then towards him. Their faces barely apart.

'How do you know?' Gerard whispered back, not because he wanted to be quite but because he felt his throat closing up on him and his cheeks flush from how close they were.

'Because...' Frank looked fleetingly at Gerard's lips. 'Do it.' He said to himself. 'Just do it.' He quickly looked back at Gerard's eyes. Beautifully hazel and brightly shone even behind his adorable glasses and they made Franks heart tighten slightly. 'Lindsey would never read Dickens.' It took a moment for Gerard's brain to catch up with what was happening and move away before he replied.

'Oh...yeah of course.' Gerard looked away from Frank for a moment and gasped quietly trying to find his breath. Frank cursed himself for making Gerard feel uncomfortable. He wanted to be friends, but it was hard when Gee looked that good all the time. It was hard when he giggled his little laugh and played with his hair and wore this incredibly skinny jeans. Frank mentally cursed himself again.

'But you like Dickens.' Gerard looked up at franks unexpected comment. 'You look like you would read his work.' Gerard nodded not trusting himself to speak. 'What's your favourite?' Frank asked staying well away from Gerard feeling guilty.

'Great expectations.' Gerard said without a thought.

'Why?' Frank asked genuinely interested in Gerard's opinion.

'Well, where do I start?' Gerard smiled up at him. 'Lets start
with characterisation for one thing. Pip. He's just. Such an interesting person who seems to be doomed a little in the beginning. Oh, but...' Gerard stops himself from talking and then claps excitedly moving closer to Frank. 'Miss Havishim... She's bitter and lonely and old and I love her, she represents...' Gerard continued to talk at an alarming rate while frank watched intently.

And that's when Frank realised that he could listen to Gerafd talk for days and days about anything. It's when he realised it was too late. He was already totally in love with Gerard Way.

Kids and adults. 7 year olds and 20 year olds. Harry Potter had a big impact on lots of people and that showed by the kind of turnout they had at the bookstore that evening. The store closed at 5 and reopened at 6 ready for the night of Harry Potterness....

'Which movie should we play?' Lindsey said staring down at Gerard's prised collection of DVD's. They all gathered around and stared at them and deliberating which movie they would play after the Quiz. 'What's your favourite?'

'Prisoner Of Azkaban.' Gerard and Frank both said simultaneously.

'Order Of The Phoenix' Lindsey answered her own question abruptly picking up the DVD. Before them placing it back down and scowling at the two. 'You guys planned this.' She said picking up the DVD and placing it next to the projector. 'Did you make the snacks?' Lindsey asked while she placed out the Harry Potter collections with prices.

'Yeah, made them on my lunch break and they've been in the fridge all day, but it should be alright.' Gerard mumbled bringing together the multiple arm chairs and stools that sat around the place and facing the towards the projected image of their computers main desktop.

'Snacks?' Frank says his ear popping up at the thought of food. Gerard giggled at him as he placed down the last arm chair.

'Yeah, the usual stuff, but I also made some Butter Beer and golden snitch cake pops.' Gerard muttered feeling quite proud of himself for his nerdy accomplishments. Frank grinned widely and weaved between the seat until he came to the older man.

'Can I see?' He whispered squirming slightly in the chair and smiling like a kid on Christmas. Gerard smiled down at him and couldn't resist the puppy dog eyes Frank was currently putting on display.

'Okay...' Frank cheered in excitement jumping of the chair and grabbing Gerard's hand and pulling him along to the back room of the shop. 'But you can't have them right now.' Gerard adds through giggled as he is pulled along and Lindsey watches contently from behind that Dickens novel. Lindsey sat for a while mindlessly turning pages, but not really scanning them. She was too busy trying to hear what was going on between her two best friends in the back room. 'If they aren't fucking by the end of the year I think I might have an aneurism.' She muttered staring at the book and trying not to seem like she was snooping as the two returned from their nerdy adventure.

'Butter beer!' Frank squealed excitedly looking down at the mug of sweetness. 'How did you do it.' He muttered staring up at him like he was a god.

'It's easy Frank!' He settled into a chair and started to rattle of how to make it. 'Frost the glasses, ice cream and cream soda blended with some butterscotch and voilà.' He tapped the glass in Franks hand and giggled. 'I've been switching the glasses between the freezer and the fridge every twenty minutes for the last two hours so they stay nice for the customers.' He explained as Frank took a cautious sip.

'I thought you just a urine infection or something.' Lindsey muttered from behind her book. 'Oh. My. God. Gee!' Frank squealed taking another sip. 'This is amazing! You make butter beer and it taste like fucking heaven! I love you.' It slipped off of his tongue like jelly and he couldn't stop the words after he thought of them. Lindsey dropped her book in shock and Gerard's eyes went wide. 'I love it!' He said quickly trying to cover up what he said first, but he knew it was too late.

'Their great!' Gerard says sensing the awkwardness Frank feels and not wanting him to feel awful about his little slip up. 'I'll show you how to make them one day.' He says as Frank smiled thankfully down at him and walked to behind the counter sipping on his drink. Gerard shuffled awkwardly over to a bookstand that didn't need tidied and decided to reorganise it as he couldn't bare to just stand there after what had just happened.

'Hey, Frank!' Lindsey said hoping off of the chair and acting as if she didn't hear a thing. She grabbed her crutches and wobbled over to him while she talked. 'We really need plastic cups.' She said nonchalantly and while passing five dollars. 'I can't really walk far and Gee can't leave the shop so could you get some?' Frank nodded settling down the mug of butterscotch deliciousness and smiled meekly at them both as he left the shop. The little ding of the door granted Gerard a sigh of relief.

'Do you see how awkward I make him!' Gerard gasped as he turned to Lindsey frowning. 'He feels obligated to be friends with me and then he says something like that and then gets fucking worried that I'm going to take it literally!' Gerard runs his hands through his hair and groans. 'I make him walk on egg shells around me because he knows I like him and he can't bare to even think about me like that and...' Gerard stopped blabbing on when he noticed Lindsey was laughing in the corner. 'If you don't stop laughing at my despair I'm going to break your other leg.' He said non threateningly. Lindsey ceased her laughter immediately, but still a smirk graced her lips.

'Wow. Someone's pissy and delusional...' She mumbled rolling her eyes and hobbling over towards where Gee was momentarily having a breakdown. 'You need to take off those stupid reading glasses.' She muttered quickly snatching them from his nose. 'And fucking look at the situation. I'm going to say this once, G, and once only.' She stared him down non aggressively, but with purpose before taking a deep intake of breath. 'Frank likes you.' Gerard's eyes went wide before he shook his head and began to protest. Lindsey was already ranting before he could get out his thoughts. 'He constantly tries to make you laugh. He read the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe the other week just to impress you. Gee, he spends all his free time in this bloody bookstore and only when you are working and best of fucking all he just said he loved you...' Lindsey stopped to breathe for a moment and that was Gerard's best chance to air his opinion.

'It was a slip of the tongue and I say I love you all the time! Friends love each other and...' Lindsey pressed her finger to Gerard's pink lips to shush him.

'Shut the fucking up G or I will stick these crutches where the sun doesn't shine.' Gerard's eyes went wide at her threat and decided it was better to just let Lindsey speak. 'He went to a shitty concert with you and flirted the whole way through it and he stayed an entire night at a hospital with you..' Gerard was about to interrupt and mention how Frank had stayed at the hospital to make sure she was okay, but when Lindsey gave him a look of warning he decided against it. 'He then got drunk and stayed in your bed for a whole day and best of fucking all YOU TWO ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER!' Lindsey shouted as Gerard watched his intently. Lindsey waited for Gerard's denial and excuses. But she didn't get any of that and what she did receive was a shock.

'So what do I do about it?' Gerard mumbled frowning sadly up and Lindsey who returned the exact same frown.

~~~~~~
Gerard and Frank are settled upon a wooden table behind the rows of mismatched seats and stools full of children and adults alike staring at the projected Harry Potter movie. Lindsey is curled into a ball on one of the bigger arm chairs at the front of the crowd staring at the screen. Gerard watches her intently to see is she's falling a asleep yet or not, but she seems to be enjoying herself. Frank is sitting next to him their arms resting on each other and was munching happily one of the golden snitch cake pops Gerard had made earlier. He was grinning at the screen and eyes sparkling with excitement. Gerard looked across at him and sighed quietly.
You know you've found the one when you'd rather watch then watch their favourite movies than watch your favourite movie yourself. But, it's heartbreaking when they don't feel the same way....
Frank turned towards Gerard and noticed him staring at him and smiled back at him. Gerard giggled as Marge Dursley floated into the sky and sipped his Butter beer cautiously trying not to make a mess and smiled back at Frank and turned towards the movie again. Suddenly the mug was snatched from his own hand and he turned to laugh at Frank so gulped some of the sweetness.
'Hey! You drank all of yours you cant have mine!' Gerard protested which earned him a shush from one of the people watching the movie. Frank giggled at Gerard giving him the mug back.
'You got in trouble...' Frank sang into Gerard's ear in a sing song tone of voice. Gerard felt the hairs of the back of his neck stand on edge as Frank whispered in his ear. Gerard slapped him playfully on the arm before they both burst into a fit of silent giggling. The movie was moving along nicely to the buckbeak scene and Frank thought this was a good time to announce to Gerard one of his kinks. 'I've always had a thing for blonde hair. Draco was like my childhood crush.' Frank whispered to Gerard again. Causing Gerard to say something so confident he did even believe it left his own mouth.
'I use to have blonde hair.' He whispered back earning an eyebrow raise from Frank and a half smile.
'Well then, Way, you'll have to show me some pictures.' Frank replied quickly. Gerard blushed smiling down at his half empty butter beer. Frank giggled looking back at the screen and biting his lip as he decided he needed some more sugar. He grabbed the mug out of Gerard's hand again and took a swig. Which left a trail of white foam on his upper lip. Gerard giggled pointing at him. 'What?' Frank said laughing and his eyes crinkling at Gerard's hysterics.
'Your lip.' Gerard said a bit too loudly earning him another shush from the crowd. Frank still looked bewildered. 'Your lip!' Gerard whispered.
'My hips?' Frank leaned in closer to Gerard and giggled. 'What are you on about?' Frank laughed their faces inches apart as they giggled.
'You have cream on your lips.' Gerard whispered back, but from Franks permanently confused eyes Gerard realised he wasn't getting his point across. He cupped franks cheek slightly earning a squeal of surprise from franks lips. He swiped his thumb along the splatter of cream but couldn't being himself to pull his hand away.
Frank smiled when he realised what Gerard had meant but a blush grew on his place cheeks when Gerard didn't pull away. He studied Gerard's freckled and pale skin. His nerdy glasses perched on his nose and the way he licked his lips soft pink nervously. His cheeks ruby red and his black hair falling in front of his heavy eyes. Gerard couldn't move. He just stared at franks olive skin and piercing eyes when he came to an abrupt decision.
He laughed. 'Fuck it.' Gerard whispered more to himself that to Frank and before Frank could show concern to Gerard's outburst Gerard pushed his lip onto Frank's earning a small gasp and sigh from frank and he began to kiss back. Their lips moved slowly, but in time together. Frank pulled away first giggling and staring up at gee.
'I...' But before he could question it Gerard started to kiss him again. This time he opened up his mouth swiping his tongue against Franks lower lip earning a slight moan from the younger of the two who proceeded to push his hands into Gerard's thick black locks and pull him closer.
'Finally!' They were interrupted my Lindsey's rattling voice which made them pull apart and look at her. She was sitting on her arm chair looking at them both like a proud parent. The whole bookstore turned to look at them both smiling slightly like dorks. Suddenly the attention was off of them and back on the movie. Frank pressed his forehead onto Gerard's and sighed deeply closing his eyes. Gerard giggled slightly pressing a peck to Franks cheek and biting his lip.
'Maybe he does feel the same way....' They both thought at the same time as they stared at each other swollen lipped and cheesy grins.
