Just Sleep.
Later.
"Bye Mikes, bye Donna! have a great trip."
I waved the two Ways off as they pulled out of the lane. I waved until the car was out of sight then slide back into the house, and closed the door being me. I slumped my shoulders a bit, letting out a sigh as I walked to kitchen.
"Day one of house sitting: laze around the house, eat, watch t.v.... Yay." I pulled open the fridge door and peered inside. There wasn't much.
Guess they expected me to go grocery shopping too.
Closing the fridge door I headed back to the front door and shoved my shoes on, I grabbed the keys off the hook and headed out.
Funny how I wasn't even there for twenty minutes and I already have to go out. Mikey could of told me they were low on food.
The walk to the store didn't take too long but the wind did take a toll on my hair. I groaned and did the best I could to straighten it out before i went in. Once inside i grabbed a cart and headed towards the snack isle.
I don't think I've been in a grocery store since I was like 13, it feels strange not being here with Ma... Especially four years later.
Ten minutes later the cart was full and I was off to check-out, the lines were pretty short. lucky me. The total was only 25 bucks too. Humming to myself quietly i strutted out the front doors only to stop and stare at the parking lot.
I. Don't. Have. A. Car...
"Fuck...." I deadpanned. Of course I would forget I freaking walked here. I groaned and rubbed my hand over my eyes.
I jolted up when something rammed into my cart.
"Woops! I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention!"
My gaze shot up towards the new voice. In front of me was a guy who didn't seem to be much older than me, he had medium length black hair that contrasted greatly against his pale skin, his pink lips were parted slightly in worry, and along with that his eyebrows were furrowed a bit. All I could do was stand there like a fish out of water, mouth agape, and eyes wide.
"O-Oh its okay! I wasn't paying attention either." I laughed awkwardly and smiled. The stranger smiled back and held out his hand, "I'm Gerard, nice to meet you."
I took his hand and shook it. "Frank, nice to meet you too." It was then I realized he didn't have a cart. I tilted my head in confusion.
"Wait so you walked into a metal cart and thought you had to apologize?" I asked, a small smirk spreading across my face. Gerard chuckled and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah... force of habit I guess."
We just stared at each other for another minute before he spoke up again.
"So uh what's the matter? Looked like something was troubling you."
I raised my eyebrows questionably before glancing down at my full shopping cart then back to Gerard. "Oh, I kind of forgot I walked here and bought too much to carry back."
He giggled and started grabbing bags from my cart. "I can help you, just lead the way!"
I stared at him for a second, not fully comprehending what he was doing.
"Y-You don't have to do that-" he raised his hand stopping me mid sentence. "I want to help you so be quiet and lead the way." He smiled and gestured ahead of us, I smiled back and grabbed the rest of the bags and started back towards the house.
Good thing I don't have to steal the shopping cart now...
