Just A Home
Five.
Gerard was having a bad day at work; they had a big meeting, talking about some comics that are getting cut. And Gerard knew that his was probably on that list.
Tired and stressed, Gerard walked through the front door of his apartment noticing it was empty; walking into the kitchen he saw a note from Frank saying that he was called into work for inventory check, and that he loved Gerard very much. Smiling he set down the note and headed for the bathroom for a shower.
After a shower and some early dinner, Gerard fell asleep.
But he woke up with a jump, almost falling off the couch. Looking at the clock, he noticed it was almost two in the morning and there was no sign that Frank had come home. One, he would have brought Gerard to bed and two, made sure to kiss him goodnight.
Checking his phone, he had no missed calls, or texts from Frank. Now Gerard was scared. Leaping up, Gerard, pushed on his slippers and headed to the record shop.
Pulling up at the shop, he could see lights, he could see Frank. His heart slowed down a bit knowing he was safe. Going to the door, he tapped the window getting Frank’s attention. His eyes were bloodshot; he was practically dragging his body to the door. Once his boyfriend let him in, Gerard’s arms were around the extremely tired man.
“Baby-“
“I left you a note.” Frank whispered.
“I know, but it’s two in the morning honey. Come on let me take you home-“
“I have to finish.”
“Baby, how long have you been here?”
“Since one in the after-“
“Frank! Have you eaten or-“
“No I have to get this done, Joe needs this done.” Frank walked towards the box he was working on, scanning each record.
“Where’s Joe?”
“Sleeping.” That made Gerard mad.
“Where.” Frank just pointed towards the office door. Walking over to it, Gerard banged loudly. A tired, little man answered, barely able to stay on his feet.
“What-“
“Why is my boyfriend still here?” Gerard asked crossing his arms.
“You look familiar. He’s working.”
“Over twelve hours with out a brake or food?”
“Honey. Please.” Frank begged.
“I needed someone-“
“To do your job? I’m taking him home, you finish it!” Gerard spat in his face, grabbing Frank’s hand.
“Huh, there are just four boxes left Joe.” Joe waved him off, going back into his office.
Once they were in the car, Frank turned to Gerard.
“I’m gonna lose that job now.”
“Babe that’s not a job, that’s being used.” Gerard framed Frank’s face.
“I worked so hard to get that job.”
“Baby, I have enough money for-“
“I’m not a charity case.” Frank yelled. “I deserve to make my own money instead of mooching off some else, especially someone I love. You know I wanna take care of you too. It’s not just you taking care of me. I wanna be a man too!” Frank looked forward, waiting for Gerard to drive.
Once they got home, Frank was a little more relaxed. He sat on the couch, leaning his head back pinching the bridge of his nose. Gerard sat on the coffee table in front of him.
“I didn’t say what I said to him to make you feel like you shouldn’t have a job because I can take care of both of us. I said it cause I love you more than anything; you are my world.” Grabbing Frank’s hands, pulling him so he was sitting up. Bringing them to his mouth, he kissed them, each knuckle. “I don’t want anyone mistreating you; not a job, friends, family, no one.” Frank softens, getting up to sit on Gerard’s knee.
“I know, and I am sorry I yelled. I- I’m really tired, and thank you, thank you for getting me out of there because I probably would have been there until opening.” Frank giggled. Gerard kissed Frank, taking his lower lip between his teeth.
“I love you too ya, know. More probably.” Frank laughed, Gerard’s eyes widened.
“Oh yea, I don’t think that’s possible.”
“Mmm, well, I didn’t think it was possible for me to survive this winter, but so far, I feeling pretty warm.” Gerard laughed, picking up Frankie, carrying him to bed.
The next morning, Gerard called the office and said he would be working from home today, since the couple was up until at least four in the morning. Gerard came back to bed seeing Frankie’s boxer-clad ass, with one leg up and one leg straight. Laughing, he leaned over his lovers, sleeping body, kissing his bareback. Hearing Frank hum, Gerard laughed.
“You want breakfast?” Gerard groped his ass, as he breathed in Frank’s ear. Hearing Frank moan, he almost flipped his lover over and taking him right there.
“If you don’t go make breakfast, I may have to just have you, instead.” And so Gerard rolled Frank on his back, kissing Frank deeply, as the younger man’s nails dug into his back. “I love you.” Frank moaned as he felt Gerard’s erection on his own making a beautiful, delicious friction. As Gerard was about to push down Frank’s underwear, they heard the buzzer to the door ring. Looking at Frank, Gerard was very confused. “Don’t look at me, this is your place.” Frank laughed. Gerard rolled his eyes.
“Our place.” Gerard said putting on his robe as Frank threw on one of Gerard’s shirts. Rounding the corner, Gerard yelled into the intercom, “do you know what time it is?”
“Mr. Way, it’s uh Joe, Frank’s boss.” Hitting the buzzer, so he could open the door to the elevator. Frank was nervous, do they make house calls to fire people, he thought. Opening the front door, Joe sat there, looking like Frank did just a few hours ago. “I didn’t realize that you were, uh the Gerard Way, the comic book artist, oh and writer. I just came here to apologize to you for keeping him, for over working him.” Frank looked from behind Gerard. “Dude I’m sorry, its just you, ya know are so eager to work.”
“That doesn’t mean breaking him! I don’t care if he works twelve hours, but two brakes and time and a half after the ninth hour would be nice.”
“I know, I’m sorry Frank, I hope you don’t leave-“
“I’ll be there to open tomorrow Joe.” Frank said, as Gerard pulled him into his side. The boss smiled, nodding.
“Oh and Mr. Way, you are an amazing artist.” Gerard thanked him before he left. Frank giggled, wrapping his arms around Gerard’s middle.
“Mmm that sounds so good, Mr. Way. Oh Mr. Way.” Frank moaned. Biting his lip, Gerard, threw his head back mocking Frank’s moan.
“God, I thought that made me sound old, but when you say it, Frankie.” Gerard felt Frank’s teeth on his neck.
“You are my old man though.” Frank smiled, kissing Gerard on the lips before he could protest. Melting into the kiss, Gerard guided Frank back towards the bedroom to finish what they had started.
