The Kids From Yesterday

FRANK'S POV

I woke up in Gerard's bed again, happy as ever. I was always happy waking up at Gerard's house. I reached my fingers out, searching for him, before realising he wasn't there. I lifted my head, looking around the room. The hatch to his stairs were open. He must've gone down to get breakfast.
And then I heard it.
The most beautiful sound I'd ever heard.
It was singing. Someone was singing.
And the lyrics they were singing were so touching and yet heart breaking at the same time that I felt goosebumps rise up on my arms.
The voice sounded muffled, like they were in a room with a door closed. I could also hear the sound of a shower. Someone was singing in the shower.

I got out of bed and down the ladder as quickly and quietly as possible, because if it was Gerard singing, I knew he would stop immediately if he thought someone was listening. I crept over to the bathroom door, which was just down the hall, and pressed my ears against it.
"Then holding hands, and life was perfect..."

I stayed there until Gerard stopped singing (I knew it was Gerard because I heard him curse when he dropped something), and the whole time I had goosebumps and my heart was fluttering like crazy. His voice was the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard in my entire life. It was amazing how he could change the tone so quickly. One minute, it was soft, lullaby material, the next it was screamo.
When I heard him turn the water off I panicked and scurried up to his room, back into his bed, and resumed my previous position.
I stayed like that as he climbed back into bed and hugged me for a long time.
