I should have never been driving

As soon as I could regain my breath I felt Gerard try to speak before he shuddered, going limp in my arms, his torso sticky with sweat.
His head fell back on the pillow, red strands covering his eyes that we rolling back.
I felt a wave of nervous panic go over me. “Gerard, quit fucking around!”
“Gerard I mean it!” I panted frantically.
I held him carefully to get a better look of his chest, watching it rise and fall really slowly and faintly.
I reach for my phone is a deafening panic “STAY WITH ME DAMIT!” I yell back at the almost lifeless array of bruises behind me fighting for air.
I pull my shirt over my head and slip it on with my phone to my ear.
~dial tone~
“911, what’s your emergency?”
“It’s my boyfriend, he’s not breathing!”
“Okay sir, what’s yours and your partners names and what’s your location?”
I-I’m Frank and my boyfriend is Gerard. Gerard Way we’re at the gregagotè hotel in bridge” I panted through the phone.
“Okay Frank, I’m Cassandra, is he lying on his back or his side?”
”HIS BACK” I yell putting it on loud speaker
“Frank, do you know CPR?”
”YES” I yell again checking Gerard’s air ways.
”okay, I need you to start, I’ll tell you when it’s been a minute” she said assertively.
”START” I say pulling in air before placing my lips over Gerard’s mouth

the chest compressions seem endless
”again” I hear Cassandra say through the phone.
His eyes shot open, still vacant and dull. He let out a low moan. “F-Frankie” he muttered, pulling at my shirt.
“HES BREATHING” I cry
”okay Frank, an ambulance is on its way” she says in a calm tone
”N-no” Gerard pants trying to conceal his manhood.
”baby it’s okay I say grabbing his jeans off the floor. “Put these on” I say softly, pulling them over his feet.
He pulled them up slowly, fumbling with the zipper.
“Let me” I whisper
“NO” he stammers, pushing my hand away
“Frank what’s going on?” Casandra says hesitantly through the phone
“I’m trying to help” I reply shakily.
“No d-doctors” he pleaded restlessly, his limp body stiffening. “P-please Frank” he panted, pulling at my shirt and placing his hand on my thigh. “Baby, stop” I say placing his arm next to him,
gerard fought hard against the paramedic until they gave him a sedative. “Frank, make th-them sttop” he sobs, tears streaming from his hazely green eyes before they went dark and his eye lids fluttered closed.
I gathered our things and paced down the hall following the paramedics, I banged on my moms door to wake her as I passed it.
I’ll call her when I’m at the hospital.
I climb in the ambulance behind a limp Gerard. His hair tangled and sweaty, his torso was bruised and cut. He looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks.
“Is he on any drugs?” A paramedic asked me, checking his heart rate
“Xanax” I reply shakily.
“Anything else?” He said looking up at me.
”no sir” I said grabbing Gerard’s hand.
“What are these abrasions from?” The paramedic closest me me asked, turning to me
“he got in a fight with a kid at school the other day.” I chirped in brushing the hair out of Gerard’s eyes.
”there might be an internal bleed but we’ll know more when we get to the hospital”
