Please don't leave me
I just want to make it all right again
I slump into my seat in Maths next too Frank, but he doesn't sit here anymore. He moved last month when it all happened.
I glance across the classroom at Frank who's sat arranging pieces off his eraser then gently flicking them off the table into the distance.
"Iero." Mr Stringer shouts, Frank looks up with his usual melancholy expression on his ghostly pale face.
"Do you know the answer to X and Y or are you not paying attention as per usual?" He mocks.
Frank holds his dreamlike gaze on Mr Stringer seeming unbothered by all of this, he then shrugs and slowly drags his eyes back down at his hands fiddling with the many objects on his desk.
"Hmph. Okay then stupid boy, maybe you'll think twice about shrugging to me when you're living on the streets!" Mr Stringer cackles, getting too personal but again Frank doesn't seem to care.
"..Way!"
"Yy-es sir?" I saying gulping. I am a little bit scared of Mr Stringer sometimes if I am to be quite honest. He is usually in a good mood but then there's his bad moods and... Well put it this way everyone calls him Jaklyn Hyde behind his back even the other teachers.
"How about you? Do you know the answer?"
The whole classes attention is brought to me, that is apart from Frank who still seems too fascinated in his pencil shaving to even notice anything else going on in the room.
"Well.. X equals 4 squared and..." I pause and tap my finger against my lip, thinking, "Y equals 72?"
"Correct." Mr Stringer groans. He really gets off on making children feel bad about themselves but when they get something right he seems almost mad.
The lesson went by quite fast and soon it was the dreaded lunch where I was alone with my thoughts.
I walked down the corridor to find any empty classroom to listen to music in and dart to the corner then put in my headphones.
"Point me to the sky above.
I can't get there on my own.
Point me to the Graveyard!
Dig up her bones..."
The misfits always remind me of Frank, it was like our band. We went to so many concerts together so many great memories.
I take out my pack lunch, as if I'm going to the caf on my own. Just as I'm about to tuck in Miss Meadows walks in dragging a small boy in with her. As my eyes focus I realise that the small scruffy boy is Frank.
I hurriedly stuff my lunch into my bag and she raises and eyebrow.
"Gerard please could you find somewhere else to hang out this break I need to have a small meeting in here with Frank. But we won't be long so you can come back in maybe 15 minutes to go to lunch with him, okay?"
I know she knows I won't be coming back for Frank, she knows we aren't friends anymore she's just trying to get some gossip out of me and Frank, the nosy cow.
I grunt indifferently and walk out down the hallway. Where can I go now?
I just want to make I all right again!
Notes
I hope this chapter wasn't too boring, I just want the story to seem natural and not rush into interesting parts, it needs to be kind of a roller coaster like real life ya know :)
