He's Not Dead, He Only Looks that Way.

“Mother nature is one violent bitch.”

Days had fade, and nights had grown. Brendon more focused on the scenery of souls being tormented than on what was happening up above him. Frank had finally been using his cane for his own purposes, all were good. He made himself a dog, to keep him company when Gerard went out to eat with the others. Frank named his dog, Spark. The dog was only an apparition but acted like a dog very well.

Frank chased Spark out of his room, to be stopped by Davy who had oreos in a bowl. Frank stared at him. Frank tapped the cane on the ground, causing Spark to disappear, “I thought you went to eat with Lindsey and Gerard.”

Davy glanced at him and the cane, “I’m not hungry .. Frank, I thought you weren’t using the cane.”

Frank lowered his eyes, “Just a little ..” He murmured.

Davy nodded, “Well, okay .. I can’t stop you.” He grinned, “Just don’t let the dog shit all over the place.” Frank smiled back as Davy past him, heading into his room where Jenna was resting. She yawned, sitting up on the bed, “There’s a storm tonight.”

“I wasn’t aware you were watching the news.” He handed Jenna the bowl as Jenna replied, “I don’t need to watch the news,” She giggled, “I just know.”

Davy grinned, “Right, of course.” He sat next to her on the bed, “Being an angel has its advantages.”

Jenna nodded, looking down at her oreos. She hummed softly before turning her head to Davy, “Davy ..”

Davy leaned into her neck, kissing it gently, “Yes?”

Jenna giggled, “You forgot the milk.”

Davy laughed, “Of course, how could I forget?” He kissed her cheek, “I’ll be back, my love.” He hurried off the bed and back into the kitchen. Just yesterday Davy had went grocery shopping, knowing that an angel’s diet was similar to a human’s. He took out the gallon of milk. Just as he did, Gerard and Lindsey walked through the door. Davy looked at Lindsey who didn’t have the same glow as she did before. Her red lips have gone pale, her skin seemed dull. Davy frowned at her as she took a glance at him, “You skipped a meal.” She said as she pushed her hair back, “You shouldn’t do that so much. You’ll get sick.”

“I already ate.” Davy lied, feeling his palms sweat as he poured a glass of milk, “How are you?”

Lindsey tightened her jaw, “I’m going into my room. No one bother me until the storm is done.” Lindsey left the scene, leaving Gerard and Davy alone.

Gerard looked around, “Where’s Frank?”

“I saw him head outside.” Davy replied as he walked further down the hall.

Gerard tucked in his lips as he headed for the side door that led outside. Just when he was about to open it, Frank walked in, “Hey.” Frank grinned, “I see clouds coming in from a distance.” He hurried inside, shutting the door behind him.

Gerard glanced at the cane, “You seem inseparable with that thing.”

Frank frowned a bit, “It’s not a thing-it’s a cane.” He grabbed Gerard’s hand, “C’mon, let’s open the blinds and watch the storm.”

As Frank led Gerard into the room, Gerard asked, “I thought Davy said you were afraid of storms?” Frank didn’t reply. He shut the bedroom door behind Gerard and turned off the lights. He walked over to the window and opened the blinds, “I think I got over it .. I don’t know, I don’t feel afraid anymore.”

Frank kicked off his shoes and climbed onto the bed, “C’mere.” He grinned at Gerard who was a bit surprised by Frank’s confidence. Gerard laid out on the bed. Frank led Gerard’s body to face the window and he tucked his arm under Gerard’s armpit, so he could hold onto Gerard. Frank smiled softly, breathing down Gerard’s neck.

Gerard felt uncomfortable. He felt odd, being in a feminine position. He stared out the window, distracting himself from Frank. He wasn’t the only one who was using the upcoming storm as a distraction. Lindsey was standing by the window, staring out to the dark clouds that closed in. She felt her body tense up with the thought that Patrick was stuck in the weather. Lindsey didn’t know that Patrick was with nice strangers who offered him a spare room so he wasn’t caught in the storm. He was staring out his window too, wondering why Lindsey still hadn’t come with him.

Davy had shut the blinds and curtains for Jenna’s comfortability. She could fight, she could kill someone, but she still had the fear of lightning. Davy sang softly as Jenna laid her head down against his chest, feeling the soft vibrations that soothed her. Jenna’s eyes jolted open in surprise when Davy coughed violently. She sat up, “Are you okay?” Davy shook his head, “Yes, yes, I’m fine-don’t worry about me.” Davy’s mouth felt dry. His voice shook, “Lay back down, Jen. I’m fine.” He kissed her cheek. Jenna wasn’t certain about his words but listened for his sake. She had a worry look on her face until he started to sing again, diverting her attention to his voice.

Lightning clashed onto earth’s soil. The dark clouds made Summit look like a vacant town. No one was outside to feel the harsh wind surround their body, to feel the rumble underneath their feet. What sounds terrifying to humans, was music to Brendon’s ears. He can hear it all. He grinned, “Mother nature is one violent bitch.”

Haley looked up to the ceiling which rumbled, causing small pieces of rock to fall onto the ground. She clenched her grip on Brendon, afraid that the ceiling above them would fall. Brendon hushed her, “We’re safe. Relax.” He grasped onto her waist, making Haley breathe heavily, preparing herself for pain-but none had happened. She glanced at Brendon who was too amused by the storm that was happening up above.

Gerard murmured, “Are you okay, Frank? You’re acting different .. I mean I guess it’s good you have more confidence but .. some weird vibes are escaping your body-” His sentence was cut short by Frank’s soft snoring. Gerard sighed softly, “Goodnight, Frank.”
