Gerard paused briefly, "You think you can help me get my memories back?"

Brendon took some time to reply, "Not right away. There are a few things you need to do before getting them back .. but then again," Brendon flew close to Frank's window, staring at the teen who cried himself to sleep, "Are you sure you want your memories back?"

Gerard walked toward the window and nodded, "Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?"

Brendon's voice echoed, "You're a danger to him. You cause him so much pain, sorrow-just look at him. There's tears still streaming down his face, even in his sleep."

Brendon was right. Frank's tears were fresh, streaming down his cheek as he slept. Gerard's heart cringed, "You .. you think I should .. leave him alone?" Gerard added in, "But he loves me-and I love him. I want to change-"

"You're a demon, Gerard. Do you really think you could change?"

Gerard frowned as he stared at Frank with Brendon hovering by his side, "He'll be happier .. without me? Is that what you're trying to say?"

Brendon replied softly, "Look at him and you tell me. What do you see?" before Gerard could say anything, Brendon added in, "I see a lost boy. A boy who's hurt and has been beaten down by the one person he loved. How often does he cringe around you? How often does he cry because of you? How often does he fear you? Gerard, you need to let him go. Create a better world for yourself."

Gerard looked down before staring at Brendon, "I .. I think you're right. I know it's going to fucking hurt but .. but you're right. Sometimes .. you have to let go to make someone's pain lessen and .. " Gerard did his best to hold back the tears forming in his eyes as he stared at Frank, "I want Frank's pain to lessen."

"There's only one thing to do .. leave. I'll be by your side. We can go far from here. We don't need-"

"Gerard." As soon as the mystery voice called Gerard' name, Brendon disappeared. Gerard turned around and met eyes with Andy. Not knowing who he was, Gerard scoffed, "Who are you?"

"The devil." Andy said bluntly.

Gerard's smile faded, "The devil?"

"Yup. You heard me right. I don't want to be thrown any questions by you-I only have one question .. have you seen anything .. " Andy tucked in his lips, thinking of a good word to describe Brendon, "Smokey? And black?"

Gerard raised a brow. Why does the devil want his conscience? Gerard heard a faint voice whisper in his ear, "Get rid of him." Gerard scowled at Andy, "No. That's a stupid question."

Andy rose a brow, "You better watch your mouth."

Gerard broke the eye contact, "I don't know anything about what you're describing."

Andy couldn't tell if Gerard was lying or not with a blunt expression. Andy nodded slowly, "Okay. If you say so .. just to let you know, if you do happen to see anything peculiar, that peculiar thing has nothing but bad intentions." And with that last statement, he was gone.

Gerard asked, "Do you have nothing but bad intentions?"

"If having bad intentions means that I want to help you, then yes, my intentions are simply atrocious." Brendon's voice giggled.

Gerard believed his words. And he also believed what Brendon shoved in his mind. Gerard knew he was a danger to Frank's emotions. He knew Frank would be better off without him-he just didn't want to believe it. Gerard peered into Frank's window one more time to see Frank's sleeping body before disappearing into the night was a corrupted silhouette who was up to no good.
