He's Not Dead, He Only Looks that Way.

“Forgive me.”

Later that night, Patrick snuck out of Lindsey's bedroom and scavenged through the kitchen for food. He was hungry. Really fucking hungry. He opened the fridge to find containers of blood which made him gag before slamming it shut. He rested his head on his hands on the counter, listening to his stomach beg for food.

"You're not going to find anything to eat here." Davy walked into the kitchen and said to Patrick, "I can take you out to eat, if you'd like."

Patrick scrunched up his nose, "I .. I don't drink blood or eat flesh."

Davy raised his brow, "Idiot. I meant for a burger or something."

Patrick frowned, "I'm sorry."

Davy smiled before telling him, "It's fine. I get it. You're still scared." He grinned, "Come on, let's go."

The car drive was somewhat relaxing and Patrick felt oddly safe with Davy. Davy would strike up a conversation about what his interests were and Patrick would chip in and realize they had stuff in common.

"I lived in the 2000's up until 2005 of my death."

“Awe, that sucks! All the best bands came out that year!” Patrick grinned.

Davy laughed, “I know, I know but I revived later that year also. So I didn’t miss out on anything.”

The car came to a stop a burger joint. Davy got out of the car and was followed by Patrick. They stood in line and before Davy could ask what Patrick wanted to eat, Patrick said to the cashier, “A large cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and a large dr.pepper.”

When Patrick slobbered over his food that approached him in the booth, Davy tried not to laugh. Patrick had no hesitation to dig in and devour his food immediately. Davy looked at him in disgust, “I don’t know when was the last time I ate that kind of food.”

Patrick swallowed, “Well, why don’t you?”

“Believe me, we tried.” Davy added in, “But our diet rejects it-by intense vomiting.”

“Oh.” Patrick set his burger down, “Can I ask you something?”

“Go ahead.”

“Do you really think I won’t last long underneath the .. supervision of those two girls?”

Davy paused, “Well .. if they like you enough, you’ll be the Frank to their Gerard.”

“Who?”

“Frank’s the one who saved you-he’s a slave to Gerard, my demon friend.”

Patrick smiled softly, “I owe my life to Frank, then.” He tucked in his lips and leaned in, “So, for me to live, I have to get those two girls to like me? How am I supposed to do that?”

Davy smiled and leaned in too, “You came to the right person to ask, my friend.”

Frank was outside, crying softly underneath the stars in the night. His tears shed harshly and blinded his vision .. Gerard laid in his bed, listening to the cries of his slave, but did not get up to comfort him. Frank was sniffling and wiping his red eyes as Lindsey sat next to him, looking up at the stars. She sighed, “It’s a nice night despite the depressed state you’re in.”

Frank bit his lip, “.. Have you ever been in love?”

Lindsey shook her head, “No, I haven’t. So I have no idea what you’re going through.” She turned to him, “Let me guess, you’re in love with Gerard?”

“Is it obvious?”

“No, it’s just you’re not with him and crying-I’ve seen a couple scenes like this in movies and read some in books.”

Frank pulled up knees up against his chest, “That’s cool.” He didn’t know why Lindsey was with him if she wasn’t going to make him feel better. He felt so cold and alone all of a sudden. There was a pit in his chest that hurt his body and hurt his emotional state.

“Gerard is a conflicted person, Frank.” Lindsey held his hand, “I’m sure he feels the same way but is confused about whether to carry on with you or not.”

Frank muttered, “What should I do?”

Lindsey softly stroke her hand through his hair, “If you want honesty .. just move on. Either he’ll come to his senses and confess or .. or nothing at all will happen.”

Frank sniffed, “It’s going to be hard.”

“True, but you’re strong.” Lindsey leaned in and kissed his forehead, making Frank feel fuzzy inside, “Gerard already has a hold on your physical state-don’t let him have your emotional state-it’s all you got.” She gave him another quick kiss before standing up, “I better get to bed.”

“Patrick?” Frank asked softly.

“No, he’s with Davy. I heard them talking about going out to eat-like a burger or something. They should be back soon.”

“Oh, okay.” Frank sighed, “I’m going to stay out for a bit until the redness around my eyes and face die down.”

“Suite yourself.” Lindsey said before disappearing.

Meanwhile, Gerard couldn’t sleep. He kicked his legs off the bed and got up. His tired eyes made his vision unclear but his posture was strong. He walked in front of a mirror and stared at himself. He said softly, “You’re an idiot.” He turned away from the mirror and walked out the bedroom door without any pants or shirt on-just briefs. He didn’t need to grab any jacket as he stepped outside into the freezing air. Gerard looked down and heard a soft mumble. He knew it was Frank.

He listened in and heard Frank talking to himself, “I’m strong .. “

Gerard tucked in his lips and walked toward Frank but paused when he noticed Frank’s pale body huddled against the house wall. Gerard frowned, “You’re going to get sick.”

Frank looked at him, “I’m fine.”

“Bullshit.” Gerard said before walking toward him. He placed his hand on his cheek and rose his brows, “You’re freezing.”

“I’m fine.”

Gerard grabbed Frank’s hand and helped him up. He gathered Frank’s body against his and lead him back inside the house. He set Frank down onto the couch. Gerard sat next to him and stared at Frank who asked, “What are you staring at?” It wasn’t an aggressive tone, more like an uncomfortable tone.

Gerard moved closer to him, “You .. I .. “ Gerard looked away, “You’re adorable.”

Frank relaxed and replied, “You are too.”

Gerard laughed, “I bet I look really adorable when I’m tearing someone’s body apart.”

Frank chuckled, “You’re so gross.” His smile faded a bit before he leaned in and kissed Gerard’s lips. When he pulled away, Gerard was somewhat surprised. Gerard smirked and kissed Frank back, “Let’s go to bed.”

Frank nodded, “Okay.”

While the two were walking toward the bedroom, the car outside pulled into the driveway. Patrick and Davy got out and Patrick stuffed his hands in his pockets and told Davy, “Thanks for the food. I owe you.”

Davy smiled, “It’s no problem.”

“Why don’t you two kiss already?” Frey giggled in the dark before appearing in front of the headlights of the car, “Patty, it’s time for you to join me in bed-we can play the knife game.”

“T-the knife game?” Patrick stammered.

“Yeah, it’s when we take turns giving each other cuts.”

Patrick glanced at Davy before replying, “Or we can play something that won’t kill me.”

Frey frowned, “Fine.” She pulled Patrick away from Davy, “I’m just going to steal your boyfriend away for a bit, kay?”

Davy froze, “Wait, what? I’m not gay-”

Sure.” Frey teased as she disappeared with Patrick. Davy shook his head as he attempted to turn off the headlights but Frey appeared in front of him again, “Oh, and can you tell Gerard that I sense some kind of angel heading our way?”

Davy stiffened, “What? Wait, what the hell Frey? Why didn’t you say something earlier? Gerard’s going to be pissed.”

Frey frowned, “Things slip from my mind, I’m sorry.”

Davy let out a large groan before pushing past Frey and rushing to Gerard’s room. He bursted through the door and quickly shield his eyes from Gerard’s naked body, “Ohmyfuckingsatan,”

Gerard grabbed the nearest blanket to cover himself, “What the fuck do you want?”

Frank chuckled as he laid out onto the bed.

“Y-your brother. Frey sensed some angel coming.”

Gerard had no hesitation when he quickly placed back on his clothes and ordered Frank, “Get your stuff and get outside in the car, do you understand?”

Frank nodded as he clumsily put on his shoes and packed a couple of things in a backpack. Meanwhile, Gerard was outside, fixing his collar shirt in front of the car. The headlights beamed at his face. Before he could move, he blew out a breath and said, “Mikey, just leave me alone.”

“Not Mikey, but okay.” The voice made Gerard cringe. Gerard froze in his place and fell to his knees, “Forgive me.”

There was a figure not far from where Gerard was standing. The figure was standing in front of the headlights making only a silhouette appear and not his description. The voice echoed from the figure, “How is Frank treating you? Like a king? Like .. a demon? Is he responding well to your every command?” The figure laughed, “Tell me how well I did to provide you a partner, Gerard.”

Gerard didn’t look up, “You did very well, thank you.’

The voice said, “Did I? No surprise .. but I’ve been watching you and noticed some problems occurring.” The figure took a step forward and finally revealed himself. Gerard looked up to meet the eyes of a normal looking guy except he was wearing sunglasses and a suit. He also held a cane in front of him, resting his hands on it.

“Sir-”

No, no, "sir" won’t cut it.” The man said with a grand smile, “You’re my friend. You may call me .. Brendon. Brendon Urie. It was the man’s name whom I now possess.” His hair was perfect despite the cold humidity outside, his lips were perfectly thick, and his smile showed off white teeth.

Gerard continued, “Brendon .. Frey sensed an angel coming and why have you revealed yourself?”

“I am some type of angel myself, aren't I? A fallen one, I suppose. Oh, I haven’t. You’re looking at a meat suit, silly. My real form is quite .. intimidating.”

Frank ran out the house and Gerard yelled at him, “Go back inside!

Frank froze when his eyes set on Brendon who grinned, “Frankie!” He spread out his arms and his cane in excitement, “Get over here and give me hug!” Before Frank could say anything, Brendon forced the wind to aggressively push Frank toward him. Frank’s body landed into Brendon’s arms and he tightened his grip around him, “The soul who never made it.” Brendon smiled.

Gerard got up, watching as Brendon’s face expell from happiness. Brendon grabbed Frank’s arm and stared at Gerard, “Our deal didn’t involve angels.” Frank’s heart pounded against his chest as Brendon added in, “I give you this soul, you become a demon, and you give me more souls.” He rolled his eyes, “Why is that so hard? And if you’re dead, there’s one less demon to get me souls-don’t fuckng tell me I wasted my ability changing you, Gerard.” Brendon’s voice hardened, “I can easily take this fucking soul away.”

Gerard took a step forward, “Okay, okay-I’ll get rid of my brother. He’s just on my ass about our deal.”

“Simple resolution: kill him.” Brendon threw Frank onto the dirt, “You better get your hands dirty, Gerard. Or I will.”
