He's Not Dead, He Only Looks that Way.

Davy's Story.

Davy's Story
1977 - 2005

When Davy was
10 in 1987, his mother and father was settled in Chicago. Davy was a quiet child in school but had a load of friends who liked him. Davy was a somewhat popular child and was always someone's crush. It was no surprise due to his dark black hair, bright blue eyes, and genuine personality. He always cared about someone else rather than on himself because even at a young age, he had insecurities. And it was about his appearance.

Davy, at age 12 in 1989 would face the mirror late at night and look at his body. He was healthy and handsome but he hated it. Why? Because of his appearance, he noticed everything was handed to him and he always got the easy way out. Davy knew there were people who would kill to have his body and he would give anything to give it to them .. he just wanted someone to love him, for him.

When Davy was in high school in 1994, age 17, he was an introvert. He never talked to anyone even if someone did try to make a conversation with him. He kept his blue eyes lowered and would only speak to answer questions the teacher gave him. Davy hated school and the stress that came along with it. He would daydream constantly about his own world, performing on stage and coming home to a girl who loves him.

At age 20 in 1997, he was already settled into his new apartment. He hung up some posters on comic books, Forrest Gump (1994), Jurassic Park (1993), and Silence of the Lambs (1991). He kicked up his feet onto the table and pulled out a small bag with what seemed to be white powder-cocaine. Davy stared at the bag before taking a small amount and lining it up with a bloody razor blade.

He licked his lips before digging his nose at the end of the line and sniffing it upward to the other end. The effects made him shake his body and laugh a bit. He grabbed his razor blade and pressed it against the skin on his stomach. He slid the blade, causing a long and deep cut .. Davy frowned at his scars before setting his shirt down.

Davy spent that year working at a lame job in a corner store in 1998. He was a hard worker and was paid well, but he felt so empty inside. No amount of cuts and cocaine could ever make him feel whole so he tried recovering from both.

One night, since he was 21, he walked into a liquor store and bought a bottle of alcohol. When he waited in line, he noticed a woman circling around the store. Davy was a bit suspicious but paid attention more to buying his beverage.

“Hey, you!” A man yelled, making the woman freeze before she could leave the store.

Davy turned to find a the store owner grasping onto the woman’s hand who was attempting to steal a bottle of alcohol. She screamed out, “Let me go!” She kicked but the man held her and ordered her to pay for the drink.

“I don’t have money,” She cried.

Davy turned back around, facing his back to the scene but sighed to himself before saying, “I’ll pay for it if you let her go.”

The two froze and looked at him. The store owner scowled, “You’d pay for her?”

Davy pulled out a couple of twenties, “This should pay for mine and hers.” He walked toward him and placed the money in the guy’s hand. The guy glanced at Davy and the money before letting the woman go.

She rubbed her aching wrists and Davy had no hesitation to walk out of the store. The woman blinked a few times before finally gathering herself together and followed Davy, “Wait, hold on,”

Davy stopped in his tracks and turned around to face the woman. Her inspected her. She had light brown skin and bright brown eyes with long brown hair which ended past her shoulders. She was small but had an aggressive attitude. She paused in front of him, “T-thanks.” She stammered, not making eye contact.

Davy shrugged, “It’s not problem .. “

It was a bit awkward due to the silence until the woman introduced herself, “My name’s Jenna.”

Davy paused. He hadn’t talked to anyone for this long and it was a bit uncomfortable for him. He muttered, “I’m Davy.”

Jenna looked up at him and smiled lightly, “Is there any way I could repay you?” Davy wasn’t sure what she was implying to, but he knew one thing for sure: he didn’t want to be alone anymore. Davy nodded, “Yeah, there is.”

Davy took Jenna to his apartment and after the two entered, Jenna looked around and saw the Silence of The Lambs poster and shivered, “I hate horror movies.” Davy was a bit shocked and murmured, “I’m sure they hate you too.”

Jenna turned to him and Davy became more alerted until Jenna laughed, “Very funny.”

It’s been awhile since Davy’s smiled, but it felt good.

Jenna casually walked down the hall and she seemed comfortable as she searched for the bathroom. When she found it she called to Davy, "Let me freshen up first."

Davy raised a brow as Jenna shut the door behind her. He was puzzled but kept it to himself as he took off his jeans and placed on baggy Captain America sweats. He kept his hoodie on as he grabbed the tv remote and turned on the tv. Davy was unaware that Jenna was walked toward him half naked, I should probably make some popcorn. He thought.

He stood up and slightly bumped into Jenna who was wearing only black panties and a bra. He stared at her body and up to her face before clearing his throat, "I-I didn't know we were gonna-"

Jenna's face flustered in embarrassment, "Ohmygod-I thought-" She looked down to her feet and murmured, "I'm sorry."

Davy smiled a bit, "It's fine." He grabbed his MIW shirt from the floor and gave it to Jenna, "It may be a bit big."

Big didn't cover it, it looked like a dress on her. Jenna was 4'9 and Davy was 5'8. Davy wouldn't admit it to Jenna but he thought she looked cute. Jenna was a bit embarrassed about it but Davy made her feel accepted and she loved being around him. They didn't have sex that night-well, they were close. When Davy put on a horror movie-Hatchet-Jenna left the room and Davy chased after her in laughter.

Davy grabbed Jenna by the waist and reeled her in. Jenna paused and looked up at him. His smile was perfect. She realized she had barely seen it at all this night but she adored it so much. She smiled a bit, "It's nice to see you smile."

Davy's smile lessened a bit as his heart fluttered, "R-really?"

Jenna nodded softly.

Davy leaned in a bit and whispered, "Can I kiss you?"

Jenna smirked, "And if I said no?"

Davy grinned, "Are you going to say no?"

"No."

Davy frowned a bit, "Wait what do you mean by that-"

Jenna pressed his lips against his and Davy took it in, leading her onto the bed. Again, they didn't have sex-but they were close. That was until Davy realized he didn't have a condom and refused to have any intercourse despite how much Jenna wanted to. He leaned in and kissed her neck, "I don't want to risk anything." And suddenly, Davy thought back to his scars.

Jenna smiled as Davy laid his head on her stomach.

2 years later in 2000, when Davy was 23, Jenna and him were still together. It was a healthy relationship despite some minor arguments here and there. And plus, both had insecurities that took a toll on their relationship. When Davy finally opened up about his scars that Jenna had seen but never asked about, it caused more problems.

Davy admitted they were self-inflicted and Jenna admitted she had an eating disorder. Both were broken people but had each other. Believe it or not, their relationship went on until Davy was 28 in 2005.

Jenna became unhappy and avoided Davy. Even if the couple had been together for so long, they hadn't moved in with each other. So Jenna kept to herself and got irritated when Davy would ask to come over. Jenna always said okay, which was a bad idea because it only caused her to be more annoyed with him.

Jenna felt suffocated by Davy who loved her deeply. She would describe him as “obsessive”. And he was. He always needed to make sure she was okay and if she needed anything, to go to him. Davy didn’t know he was obsessed, he just thought he cared so much about her.

And one fateful day, Jenna came over to Davy’s apartment. Davy took her in for a hug and smiled, “It’s always nice to see you.”

Jenna just smiled but didn’t reply.

Davy looked at her and knew something was wrong, “What’s up?”

Jenna frowned, “Do you love me?”

“With all my heart.”

“And you want me to be happy?”

“Yes, of course.”

Jenna looked to her feet, “Then .. then I’m leaving you, Davy.” Before Davy could say anything she added in, “It’s not you-I haven’t been myself lately. I’m not happy with myself and I don’t want to drag you down.”

Davy frowned as tears formed in his eyes, “But .. but I love you and whatever we’re going through, we can get through together-”

“No, we can’t.” Jenna kept her eyes low, “Please, don’t forget that I love you.” She hugged him and murmured into his chest, “Please don’t forget that I love you.” She repeated.

Davy cried, “If that’s what you want .. “

Jenna and Davy went their separate ways and sadly, Davy went back to cutting himself and lost motivation to do anything. He tried so hard not to call Jenna and beg her to come back. He had to wait for Jenna to text him, so he could finally talk to her. Davy was completely heartbroken but was glad that Jenna agreed they’d still be friends. The only thing that Davy didn’t like was that Jenna gave really short replies. Nevertheless, he was happy she didn’t leave his life.

As time passed, Davy was feeling a little bit better. That was until Jenna texted him, “I just got back from my first double date.”

Davy sighed and replied, “That’s nice.”

The next day, Davy had a sudden realization that Jenna had gone on a date. He tightened his jaw to hold back the tears, “I thought she needed time for herself.” He said to himself. Davy suddenly felt so helpless and vulnerable with the thought of another guy holding the one he loved. Davy quickly grabbed his jacket and rushed out to his car. He drove all the way to Jenna’s.

He knocked on the door hesitantly and fixed his jacket up a bit as he waited for her to answer the door. Jenna swung open the door and paused when she faced her ex-boyfriend. She looked at him, “What are you-hi.”

Davy smiled a bit, “Can I come in?”

“Davy-”

“Please. I’ll be in and out.” Davy added in, “I just need to talk to you.”

Jenna sighed and allowed him in. Davy bit his lower lip as she shut the door behind him. He cried out to her abruptly, “What the hell, Jenna?! You said you needed time to yourself and you’re out fucking some guy!”

Jenna yelled back, “If you really loved me, you’d let me go! I’m tired of you keeping me away from my friends because you were so clingy and came everyday! I'm just not as happy with you anymore!

Davy wiped his eyes, “You made me so happy. You could’ve just told me to leave you alone for a while.”

“That wouldn’t have helped because I had already been annoyed.” Jenna regretted her words.

Davy was angry, hurt, and heartbroken. He grabbed Jenna and held her close, making Jenna squirm, “Let go of me!” Davy didn’t listen. He aggressively said, “I love you so much, why don’t you understand that?” Davy threw her onto the ground and dug around the kitchen and finally found the rope. Davy asked as he rushed over to her and grabbed her by the hair, dragging her toward the bedroom, “I remember using this rope, do you? It was a nice day,” Jenna screamed and kicked as Davy dragged her along the floor. He continued, “We used it at your little sister’s birthday party-to hang up the pinata.”

Davy slammed Jenna onto the bed who tried fleeing but Davy held her down with his body on top of hers. He pulled out the rope as she punched at his chest. He tied her hands up against the bedframe which made her frantically kick her legs and cry. After Davy tied her hands up, he became frustrated and screamed at her, “Shut up!” His hand formed a fist and he punched her jaw, causing her body to relax and her screams to stop.

Davy panted as he got off the bed and grabbed the gasoline from the garage. He circled a line of gasoline in the kitchen, living room, and finally toward the bedroom. He ended the line on the bed where Jenna laid unconscious.

Davy went back to the kitchen and pulled out his lighter. He set fire to the gasoline and ran toward the bedroom and laid his head onto Jenna’s stomach just like the first night they met. His last memory before the excruciating pain overwhelmed him was of Jenna’s smile .. and he smiled too.

Davy didn’t want to open his eyes. He murmured, “I’m dead.”

“You are.” The voice made Davy jump and stand up. He looked around his area to complete darkness and asked, “Who’s there?”

The voice echoed, “Don’t be afraid.”

Davy’s heart was pounding against his chest, “I .. I’m not.”

“Sure you aren’t.” The voice laughed, “You’re dead but was in judgment. I suppose the little birds from up above didn’t want you after all.”

Davy’s head snapped images of setting fire to him and Jenna, “Why would they?”

“Blinded by love.”

Davy frowned but didn’t reply.

The voice said, “How would you feel about becoming a demon? No bullshit required. I’ll give you anything you desire.”

“Anything?” Jenna’s smile came into Davy’s head.

The voice chuckled, “Well, not anything I suppose. Your loved one is somewhere where I can’t reach her. Way, way, up above-if you know what I mean.”

“Then I don’t want anything.”

The voice paused, “You would turn into one vicious, intolerable demon without a price?”

“There nothing else I want.” Davy lowered his head, “She was my everything and now that she’s gone .. “ Davy looked up, “My price is nothing.”

The voice laughed so hard, it rung into Davy’s ears, “Well, well, well-I’m surprised. And so, it shall happen.”

Davy met Lindsey, Gerard, and Frey in late 2010 one late night under a full moon. They bought each other drinks and had fun murdering cattle. Davy had never felt more better. He had lost the one he loved but he would never lose this feeling.
