There are certain things to me, whether they be books, movies, songs, television shows, whatever, that send certain vibes to me. At the present moment, Gray by Pete Wentz and Badlands by Halsey are sending me the same vibe.

Gray is a book that sounds much better read out loud. The words, even though they're someone else's, sound so poignant coming from anyone. I always imagine that one day, my significant other will read this to me in the dead of night. Even after I've fallen asleep, they would keep reading, in the event I could hear them. God, I'm so lonely.

Badlands is an album that sends out these vibes of 'I'm a force to be reckoned with, so get the fuck out my way'; for me, it does, at least. Every song on the album makes me want to get a girlfriend (not a boyfriend; this would be so much better with a girl) and take her out to a shitty motel. Listen to the crackling of the neon sign outside the room, the hazy smoke of cigarettes swimming gracefully in the air, never taking our hands off of each other the whole night. God, I need a girl.

I want this. I want the ability to take my girlfriend or boyfriend or whomever on crazy adventures like I'm writing for Pete and Mikey. I write about what I want— love, lust, adventure, danger... I want that, and it kills me that I never will.

And then, I'll realize that I don't need that. I'm content with what I have. My friends are good enough for now, and I'm sure they'd be willing to smoke in a shitty motel with me. God knows we've done weirder and worse together.

If you really want the experiences, read Gray while listening to, most specifically, Young Gods, Haunting, Hurricane, Colors, and Coming Down. Bonus points if you do it with your S.O or best friend. Extra bonus points if you do it in your feel-good undies (you know that one bra or that one pair of underwear that make you feel so sexy, so invincible? Yeah, wear nothing but those. Trust me on this.)

It should be noted that I'm bolding certain phrases in each paragraph. I'm not sure why either.
