GHOST
Saying That I Love Him
As we walked onstage I couldn't keep my mind off of what just happened. Frank and I kissed, I knew I couldn't stop smiling like an idiot. But I pulled myself together, sort of. I was still smiling and Frank was too, we looked like idiots. I don't blame us thought, we kissed and it was the best feeling ever.
"So we're back, again. Just from yesterday." Frank started speaking as we sat on stools with the mics in front of our faces.
"Yeah but we're actually going to sing songs from what I've written within the past week and Frank will play guitar or just sit their and look pretty." I gestured to Frank who's cheeks were a pinkish color.
"Are you going to play the song last night?!" I overheard someone yell and 'yeahs' came from the crowd.
"We'll see." Frank commented.
"Yeah we'll see, but uhm let's get to it." I said and took a sip from my water bottle before I began to sing.
"Well that was good wasn't it?" Frank asked as we got off the stage after our little set.
"Yeah, I liked it when you actually made up chords with the song. I was just expecting you to sit there and look pretty." I pointed at the stage as I explained to Frank.
"Nah, I'm just so good that I can put my fingers to work."
"Right Frank, because you're so good." I said teasing him.
"Hey boys!" We overheard Stevie.
"Yeah?" Frank and I asked in unison.
"Come here!" He gestured towards us and we started walking.
"What's up Stevie?" Frank asked as I was sipping from my water bottle.
"You don't mind playing for me next week? Same day, same time?" He asked.
"Oh no, I don't mind. Frank?" I looked at him and he looked back at me.
"I don't mind either, this is actually fun." He smiled still looking at me.
"You buys seemed to be having fun. On and off stage." Stevie replied and his voice got quiet after the last string of words. Almost inaudible.
"Wait Stevie! I'm new, when does pay come in!?" Frank yelled as Stevie walked back to the bar.
"End of this month, Frankie!" He replied.
"You could've asked me." I looked back at him smiling.
"I was just about to tell you and myself that." He smiled. "Well I'm going to get my guitar see you later Gee." He waltzed back on stage and grabbed guitar.
"I'll text you, okay?" I said as he was packing up his guitar.
"Yeah, okay. Bye." He waved as he took his guitar case with him.
"Bye." I waved back and decided to get another bottle of water.
After about ten minutes talking to Stevie, and sipping from like two bottles of water, I decided to leave. On the way back I totally forgot that I kissed Frank, it sort of disappeared and now it all hit me and now I'm like holy shit. But I probably look like I'm no happy or anything, unless I do and I look like a complete loser. It was another ten minutes until I was back at my apartment and it looks like Bert didn't come back.
"Thank God." I whispered as I took off my jacket.
I walked towards my room and then took off my clothes. That feeling I had with Frank, it kept me up. Don't know why but it felt like the more I replayed the part of us kissing inside my head the more stronger it gets. Why had this never been triggered before? Did I really love Bert? Or do I love Frank? Such a confusing place to be.
