Can't You See Me?

I never imagined Frank having children, but I guess it was a given that this would eventually happen. His two daughters didn't look too much like him, which led me to assume they looked like their mother. Frank was probably married, and I had been too focused on teaching and keeping him to the back of my mind that I never thought to meet another man or woman. I slumped down against my table. I'd eaten a very good meal since I enjoyed cooking and, for the first time, I felt upset that I didn't have anyone to share it with.

I spent the rest of the night watching crappy horror movies, sitting in silence, until my phone rang loudly, causing me to jump.

I was getting a phone call. I didn't recognize the number but decided to answer anyway.

"Hello?"

"Is this Mikey Way?"

"Frank?" I asked. Are you serious? He's calling me?

"Yeah. I was checking to see if this was still your number. I'm glad it was. Look, we need to talk. Can we get together?" He asked. His voice was hesitantly. I still thought he was the biggest asshole in the world, but I've needed this closure for years, and I'll be damned if I don't get it now.

"Right now?" I asked. I looked down at myself. I was wearing baggie sweats and an oversized t-shirt.

"Yeah. I can come over or we can meet somewhere. I don't care. We just need to talk."

"Just come over. I live in the house on the corner by the 7/11 on 2nd street."

"Got it. I'll be there in a few." We hung up and I tried to calm down my pounding heart.

I wanted to ask him where the hell he went. I wanted answers.

Kind of just using this to get over my writer's block and to get some confidence in my writing because I am seriously losing it.
