“Lydia wake up!” The unfamiliar voice rang out as I felt myself being shook from my sleep. I moaned out of habit whenever anyone woke me up, sleep was my favourite thing to do after all. “Got me worried there girl.” Zacky spoke laughing as he helped me up. I looked round to find I was outside my apartment door, my handbag at the side of me. “How come you’re sleeping outside your own apartment?” He questioned after making sure I was steady on my feet as I rubbed my eyes back into focus.
“I, erm, forgot my key.” I rubbed my temple a little trying to remember what I was doing before I passed out. Images of naked tattooed flesh and noises of moaning flashed in my mind as did another strange thing. I quickly shook my head before looking up at Zacky. “Sorry for worrying you.” I smiled rubbing his arm as he raised his hand a no problem manner.
“I possibly shouldn’t be telling a cop this but I can pick your lock to get you back in your manor if you wish.” His smile grew as I laughed out.
“That would be great. I promise not to arrest you.” I nudged him as he took a hair grip out of my hair carefully and bending it out of shape. I watched as he got the lock open in seconds, but I couldn’t help but feel like I was being watched.
“Partners in crime now buddy.” He smirked as he slid the newly bent hair grip back into my hair and nudging me. “Listen, Brian and I’s band our playing a gig locally and we wondered if you and Belle would wanna maybe… you know… come watch us?” He stuttered standing outside the door leaning on the frame as I stood at the door.
“That sounds amazing! Yes we wanna watch you!” I laughed, talking to him like it was the stupidest question I had ever heard.
“Great I’ll get you both some tickets.” He winked at me flashing that perfect smile of his, causing mine to grow.
“Do you want to come in for coffee? You know to say thanks for breaking in?” I laughed as I motioned to the kitchen.
“Coffee with my damsel in distress neighbour is something I’d never normally turn down but I have a band practice that started 10 minutes ago.” He nudged me laughing, “But you owe me a coffee.” He smiled kissing my cheek before walking off towards the stairs, leaving me stood there smiling.

I closed the door, making sure to latch it before heading to the kitchen to grab a drink when my familiar text tone rang out.
Something gone down on Main Street, police cordon and white suits. Expect a phone call. B x
I read out just as the kettle popped to let me know that it had boiled and my phone rang with Geoffrey’s number flashing.
“Lydia? Lydia Hardy?” His gruff voice came out through the phone over all the commotion noises around him.
“Yes?” I spoke grabbing my badge and bag and heading out of the door.
“You need to come down to Main Street crossroads. You need to see this.” His panicked voice came out as I made my way quickly down the stairs, ignoring everything around me and heading down to the busiest part of the town.

It took me about ten minutes to get there with my quick paced walking, I was greeted by Geoffrey and his assistant and led over to the two bodies lying in the middle of the cross roads. The female was lay across the male, mimicking the directions of the roads and both had the exact same injuries. Two puncture wounds at the side of their neck. Both bled out, and, both with the same clotting problem as the previous ones. I looked up at the detective and nodded to indicate that it was the same killer. “Lydia there has also been something new added.” His assistant looked over at me as I frowned questioning her. She stared at me before looking down at a concealed piece of paper that was tucked under the deceased guy’s leg. I snapped on a pair of blue gloves bending down to pick it up and read the message that had been wrote in blood, not certain of whose it was.

I’ve seen all of you,
But, you’ve seen nothing of me,
I am going to destroy your morals,
I am going to destroy your beliefs,
I am going to destroy your justice,
I’ve seen all of you,
And soon,
You’ll see all of me.

I read the message over and over, finally reading it out loud to the small group of officers that were surrounding me.
“What the fuck this dude is crazy!” One of the juniors whispered loudly, moving away from the group.
“We need this analysed.” I held up the note, slipping it into an evidence bag. “Now. Also, we need to comment on this it needs to be done here and now. There’s enough T.V cameras here. Finally, I need you to give me rank.” I stared directly a Geoffrey who nodded.
“You carry out the press conference, I’ll sort out your rank. I want a station wide meeting tonight at 10 everyone is to be there, make sure everyone knows. This case is priority now.” Geoffrey spoke to the officers, who all nodded. “You two with Lydia.” He pointed to Maria and Chris, who I had seen at most of the crime scenes I’d been too.
“Do you know what you’re going to say?” They asked me as we walked over to the car as I steadied my breathing taking a big gulp from the coffee Maria handed me.
“Improvise.” I laughed a little before walking over to the group of people who had gathered.
“Ladies and Gentleman if I could have your attention please. I am special officer Lydia Hardy and I’ve come to give comment on the incident that has occurred today here on Main Street.” I started off as everything instantly fell silent and microphones where shoved in my face, cameras swung my way. “Of course no definitive answers can be given at this moment, but, what we can say is that we will be investigating this case in connection with that of Billy Moore. If there is any witness that witnessed this horrific scene then please come forward. These are brutal incidents and we can offer you the help you need to move forward with your own lives, as well as our investigation. I want to reassure the public that there is no more of a greater risk, but, please do be extra vigilant. Don’t walk by yourself in the dark, don’t take shortcuts and stick to the well-lit areas. Finally, always let somebody know you are leaving and when you are expected home. We will give you more information as and when we get it, but for now please respect the families of the victims and the police department and allows us to investigate without interference. Thank you.” I nodded a little before walking off and towards the car that Maria told me was to take me to the station, ignoring the shouting of questions from the press and public.
