I sit on the park bench laughing a little while Charlotte makes funny impressions of her mother.

"So, Vanya, what did you want to tell me?" she asks.

I suck in a deep breath, having promised Gerard that I would tell Charlotte about the tumor in my heart.

"Charlotte, I don't know how to tell you this, and I should've told you sooner so please don't be mad; I have a tumor in my heart and...and..." I burst into tears as I stare at her shocked face, which automatically softens when I begin to cry.

"P-please tell me this is a horrible joke?" Charlotte pleads, tears leaking from the corners of her own eyes.

"I w-wish it w-was!" I was.

People all around us give us looks and Charlotte glares at them while rubbing my back comfortingly.

"Sh, we'll get through this." she whispers, wiping her tears and then looking away.

"Vanya?" another female voice asks.

"K-Kailey?" I ask.

"Yeah.." is all she can say.

"This is you're fault!" Charlotte screeches.

"What's all my fault?!?" Kailey asks bewildered.

"Vanya has a tumor in her heart and you and your stupid asshole of a boyfriend have been putting her and Gerard out since the beginning of this year!" Charlotte screams.

"I'm sorry!" Kailey cries, "I didn't think that Drew would be the way he was becoming and...and...please forgive me! I broke up with him! I didn't know what else to do!"

"Kailey, come here!" I cry out, pulling her into a long hug.

Charlotte, Kailey and I stand there crying like babies until my phone goes off.

"Who is it?" Charlotte asks, wiping her eyes once again.

"Gerard needs me," I answer, putting my phone back into my pocket.

"Do you want me to come?" Charlotte asks.

"Yes," I nod, "and Kailey."

Kailey looks shocked for a moment before pulling me into another hug.

"Thank you." she whispers into my ear, and I feel happy.
