Gerard and I are laying on his bed, my head on his chest. Reruns of some old cartoon plays on the TV screen. Gerard holds me close and we stay there quiet for a long time.
"Vanya, you should probably get some sleep soon, you had a rough day." he says slowly.
"Oh, geez, I forgot to take the perscription thing that the doctor told me I needed."
"Do you want me to go down there and get it?"
"No....just wait until tomorrow. I think I can survive tonight."
"Well alright."
Gerard kisses my forhead and I put my head on his chest. The TV is turned off and I feel him lay down. I lay there not saying a word but thinking about what the doctor said. I finally felt tired and I closed my eyes, falling asleep to the steady beating of Gerard's heart.

Gerard's P.O.V

"Vanya!" I holler from the kitchen down to the basement.
"Just a minute!"
I sigh and run my hands through my hair. Atleast it was the weekend. No school, no tests, no Drew. I watched Mikey head towards the front door.
"Mikey!"
"What?"
"Where are you going?"
"Umm, I was gunna take a walk to the park. I need to clear my head."
"Oh, can I borrow the car then?"
"Sure, keys are in the tray by the door. Later."
Mikey left and I wathced him jog down the street. He has been distant since the passing of Frank, I knew how close they were starting to get. Vanya bounds up behind me and wraps her arms around my waste.
"Hey," she says, lightly kissing my cheek.
"Hey yourself. Why dont you call Charlotte?"
"Why?"
"You guys haven't talked lately and I have some errands I need to run anyway."
"Well, I suppose. Let me give her a call."
I watch her leave to call her friend. She comes back only seconds later.
"What did she say?" I ask.
"She says that she'll come by and pick me up."
"Oh, okay. Do you want me to wait with you?"
"No, it's fine, you can go."
"Well okay. I'll call you in a bit."
I kiss her quickly and grab the keys to the car. My mind keeps wandering to everything that has happened this past week. For the first time, in a long time, I feel myself start to cry.
