You only hear the music when your heart begins to break. (Part 1)
Vanya's P.O.V
Once school was over I had to race home to get ready for the party even though it was at 7:00. I throw my bag onto the sofa and half expect to see my mother scold me, but instead she is sitting at the kitchen table with a woman I had never seen before.
"Ahh! Vanya, you're home!" She exclaims, ushering me over.
"Who is this?" I ask.
"Our new neighbor, this is Mrs. Way." She gushes.
Mrs. Way gives me a small smile and I begin to wonder if she is related to Gerard.
"Vanya, it is so nice to meet you!" She says breaking the silence.
"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Way!" I reply.
"Oh no, call me Donna." She demands.
I smile, "Is your son Gerard?" I blurt.
"Oh, so you have met him! I was nervous for him, starting at a new school and all."
"Oh, no need to worry, he's very nice." I say kindly.
"Vanya, you should invite Gerard to the party tonight." My mom suggests.
"I already did," i reassure.
"oh this is great! My little Gerard will be able to make some new friends! Did you know that when he was little-"
"Mom?" A voice behind me asks.
I turn and face Gerard, "Oh not to worry Little Gee! Your mother was just about to tell us a delightful story
from your childhood!" I tease.
"No! Mom, please dont!" He begs.
"Vanya, why dont you show Gerard your room?" My mom suggests.
I nod and lead him up the staircase.
