Our Story

Condition// Comatose

“Frank please! Frank listen! I didn’t do it!” He screamed, pleading with his lover, as the objectionable police officers slammed him against a wall, trying to suppress the man's limbs.

“You know me! Frank just fucking look at me!” Tears streamed down his face, as he continued to lash out, trying to escape and shake Frank into believing him. Frank stood there, his own warm tears streamed down his ghostly face; Gerard was his world. Frank didn’t know how to feel. Part of him wanted to reach out and beat the living shit out of him for doing that too him, the other wanted to believe, that the man who he was supposed to marry, wouldn’t have committed such a horrendous crime, that ruined Frank. That took from Frank the only person who’d ever loved him through everything.

Gerard’s arms were finally caught and cuffed behind his back, and they began trying to drag him into the back of the car, but Gerard still had a fight in him.

“Frank don’t let them take me! I love you!” His cries were pitiful, and Frank couldn’t take it anymore. He turned away from the red hair fiend, who kicked one of the cops in the face, as he threw his body around. Frank wrapped his arms around himself and made his way into his house, numb, and angry. He could barely stand that screeching, and pleading that assaulted his ears, as he walked up the steps.

Gerard was freaking, the man he gave his life to, all of his secrets too, believed that he murdered his mother. He witnessed Frank’s small, shaking frame, disappear into their home, and his body went limp. Gerard’s body crashed on to the sidewalk, as his whole world fell apart around him. Frank was never going to stand up and defend Gerard, he was never going to believe him. Gerard would never again run his hands through Frank's dark locks; they would never share an intimate embrace. Gerard would never feel the warmth and softness of Frank, and his beautiful soul.

The police officers threw his slack body into the back of the cruiser, and Gerard saw the life Frank and him had flash before his eyes. The day they met at the back of the comic book shop, Gerard worked at, when Frank crashed into him, and they both ended up on their asses. Their first date, where Gerard spilled his milkshake all over Frank.

Maybe it had been an omen. Maybe it had foreshadow how their love would be demolished. They never saw the signs, too caught up in the stars in each other's eyes. It was all perfect, every mistake each made, each flaw they had. Frank wished he’d hadn’t been stupid enough to fall for such a diavolo.

Gerard didn’t regret anything, his heart still longed for Frank, even though Frank just threw him to the hounds. He didn’t regret meeting a man that was so angelic, that his soul was so pure and untainted. Gerard would never give up Frank and all the memories they made together. He didn’t murder Linda Iero, he knew it, he wished Frank knew it too.

Gerard was reorganizing comics in the back of the store, restacking the piles of 1970 Marvel comics that stupid customers, always seemed to not put them back in the order they found them. He grumbled to himself, about respect for the little masterpieces, and the hardworking (underpaid!) workers, who had to take care of them, when he turned to be knocked onto his ass by a blurr.

“Shit sorry man, I was, I didn’t mean to, let me help you up?” A hand shot into gerard’s view, which he accepted. The hand pulled him up, and Gerard quickly bent down to pick up the comics that had been knocked off.

“Uh ya, I’m really sorry about that, I’m Frank, and you’re…” Gerard looked at this guy, or kid maybe? Frank was rather short, but he did have many tattoos scattered on his arms.

Gerard nervously pointed at his name tag “Gerard, er Gee, either works. Don’t be sorry, happens man.”

“Thanks Gee, look I gotta run, nice to bump into you!” Frank smiled at him and hurried out of the store, sprinting down the street. Gerard watched him until he couldn’t see him, confused at what just happened.

Frank watched the police drag Gee’s limp body into the back, the officers slamming the door and shaking their heads as they got in and drove off. Frank watched as his only love, his whole world, became a speck on the horizon.
