This Can't Go On Any Longer
Mikey's POV
I can' stand to see Gerard like this anymore. His sad puppy dog eyes, the way his greasy hair sticks to his face like he hasn't showered in days, and worst of all, the silence.
It was about six months ago when Gerard's ex boyfriend, Bob, raped him. Since then, I've been living with my older brother to care for him. I do everything I can to make sure Gerard doesn't get back into his old drinking habits, meaning there is no drinks in this house. I'm not too worried about him going to a bar and ordering himself a drink since he hasn't spoken since the event with Bob, but knowing Gerard, he'd find a way.
I've been constantly searching for a therapist for Gerard, someone who will help him speak again. After months of searching though, I contacted someone who will try his best to help my brother speak again. His name is Frank Iero and even though he is younger than both my brother and I, I have heard there isn't much better than him.
The appointment is scheduled for tomorrow and now I just have to break the news to Gerard. I walk upstairs to his room and quietly knock on his door, waiting before I open the door, knowing that he isn't going to respond. I sit down on his bed and gently grab his hand, trying not to scare him too much.
"Hey big brother. Tomorrow you are going to have an appointment with Mr. Iero. I have already explained the situation to him because it is going to be a one on one session. It will only be an hour long twice a week, more or less depending on how you are doing. I just really want to help you Gee. I love you."
I see tears well up in his eyes and I gently pull him into a hug. Other than with me, Gerard doesn't do very well with any physical contact, but who could blame him.
"It's okay Gee. Things will get better for you. I promise."
Afterwards, I text Ray to come over.
Me: Hey fro baby <3
Ray: What's up cutie?
Me: Come over and watch movies with me n' Gee?
Ray: Sure thing sugar. Be over soon <3
Gee and I sat on the couch with popcorn and A Nightmare on Elm Street just about to start, when Ray comes in. Seeing how peaceful we look, Ray just comes over silently, kisses my cheek and plops down next to me so I am in-between both him and Gee. Gerard starts to fall asleep halfway through the movie. Both Ray and I carry the sleeping man to his room and tuck him into bed.
I really hope Mr. Iero can help me hear my big brother's voice again…
