Touch Him Again, And I'll Kill You

Thirty Three

Frank's POV
It had been a couple of weeks since I had woken up, and I still felt like I was in a daze. I constantly was forgetting things, and stumbling over my words. I had to go through a lot of physical therapy along with mental therapy. I was slowly getting better, and Gerard was extremely supportive of everything. If I ever was having a bad day, he would stay with me until I was feeling better. I truly couldn't have asked for someone better to love me.
"Gerard?"
He looked up at me from his spot on the couch, where he was eating a sandwhich.
"Let's get married."
He started choking on the bite he had just taken.
"...Right now?" He asked, skeptical.
"As soon as possible." I said.
"What brought this on?" He asked me.
"I just love you, and I want to be with you forever. As your husband."
His face turned slightly pink as he looked up at me under his lashes.
"Okay, Frankie. You plan it, and we will do it."

I spent the next few hours finding a small chapel that would authorize our marriage. When I finally found one I liked, I showed it to Gerard, and he agreed that we would go as soon as we were dressed. Since I had been staying at Jimmy and Lindsey's with Gerard, all of my clothes were in Gerard's room. I went into the closet and looked for something nice to wear. I found one of Gerard's white button ups and put it on. It was slightly big on me, but it still looked okay. I wore black jeans and my black vans since I didn't have any other shoes. Gerard was getting ready in the bathroom because he wanted us to be surprised when we saw eachother. I waited in the hall for a while before he finally came out. He really did look great. A black button up, with black jeans and his signature leather jacket. He even put some eyeliner under his eyes, and brushed his hair, which was a very rare occurrence.
"You look great, Sweetie" I said to him. He gave me a toothy grin.
"You don't look so bad, yourself. Now, are you ready to go?"
"More than ever." I said with a smile.
He took my hand in his and led me out to his car. The drive was somewhat long, but it was relaxing. I loved just listening to music and driving with Gerard. He made everything I did seem like it was so much easier for me. I was excited to marry him.

We finally made it to the small chapel and we went inside. It seemed like it was deserted, but an old woman with white hair walked out of the back room. There was one podium in front, and a few pews filling the rest of the room.
"Hello, boys. How can I help you today?" She said in a sweet tone.
"We want to get married here. Today. Well, now, actually." Gerard said nervously. Her face lit up.
"That sounds great! Let me go get my books and papers and we can begin." She said before disappeared into the back room again.
Gerard let out a sigh of relief. "I'm so glad she isn't a homophobe. I would hate to have to hit an old woman." He said with a laugh. I rolled my eyes at him.
"You wouldn't hit a woman." I said to him.
"Well, I would hope not." The old woman said as she came back out of the room. Gerard's cheeks were flushed.
"Is there anyone you boys want to wait for or should we begin?" She asked.
"Nope, just us." Gerard said, and gave my hand a tight squeeze.
We walked over to the front of the podium.
She began the ceremony, and we both said 'I do' to everything asked of us.
"You may say your vows, now." She said, and I panicked.
"I didn't write anything." I said nervously.
"Did you?" I asked Gerard.
"I don't need to write them." He said, then began.
"Frank, I've known since the moment that I saw you that I was going to be with you for the rest of my life. When I open my eyes, all I see is you. You're in the colors of the sky, and the beats to my favorite songs. I vow to be your person for the rest of your life. I will never give up on you, and I will never let you go to sleep feeling unloved or unwanted. I vow to be what everyone else couldn't, and more."
I felt tears spill over, and I smiled.
"Gerard, I vow to be the one who brightens every dark day for you. I vow to love you until my heart stops beating, and I vow to make you the happiest person on earth. I feel like these are shitty vows and I should be promising more, but I hope that by doing this, you'll know that I already have." I took his hand in mine and he grinned.
"I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss the groom." The older woman said, and I was expecting to have my face attacked by Gerard, but instead he cupped my cheeks with his hands and gave me a soft kiss.
"I love you, Gerard Way."
"I love you too, Frank Way."

Notes

Okay yes I know I've taken a literal year off from writing and I apologize. I should hopefully be getting back in the swing of things here soon.
