Touch Him Again, And I'll Kill You

Gerard's POV

Everything I could have ever possibly wanted. Everything I had ever dreamed about as a kid. Everything that meant the world to me, was all behind a pair of glowing hazel eyes, and a crooked smile.
Frank.

When I was fifteen, I came out to my parents as gay. They responded by kicking me out. I was homeless for a few months before I met Jimmy who allowed me to live with him.
Because of this shitty past that follows me everywhere, I had major trust issues.
These trust issues resulted in me doing the worst thing possible.

"I'm in love with you." He said, looking up at me through his eyelashes.
I was shocked. Of course I loved him. For more reasons than one. His beautiful smile brightened my day everytime I saw it, and the best thing to me, was that he also reminded me of Mikey in so many ways.
Frank was basically my best friend, as well as someone I cared about to the highest degree.
But once again, referring to those trust issues, I didn't know how to react to his revelation of feelings.
I hadn't said anything in a short while, so Frank began to worry.
"Gee..?" He said, trying to meet my eyes.
I turned away from him and walked back out the front door.
I got into my car, and began driving. I didn't have a plan on where I was going, but eventually I ended up at the hospital.
Maybe talking to Mikey would help me resolve my problems.

I went up the elevator to the floor Mikey was on. When the doors opened, I walked to front desk. Linda was there, writing something down on a small sheet of paper. Linda is one of Mikey's nurses. She's also my favorite.
"Hey, Linda." I greeted her. She glanced up at me and my eyes met hers.
"Hello, Gerard! How are you doing?" She asked, as she brushed a strand of curly brown hair behind her ear.
"I could be better, but I guess that's just life." I shrugged.
She nodded. "I hear that." She sighed. I noticed the dark bags under her eyes. She looked really tired.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm just very stressed. Got a call from my sons school saying he's been skipping classes and hanging out with the school's delinquent." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh, well I hope he gets things sorted." I said with a small smile.
"Thank you, Gerard. Mikey should be back in his room by now. Group therapy just ended."
I thanked her and walked down the hall towards Mikey's room. I knocked on the wooden door and heard a muffled "come in."
I opened the door and smiled at my younger brother. He looked up at me, then glanced back down at his hands.
I made my way to my usual chair right next to his bed.
"What's wrong, Mikes?" I asked him.
"I missed you." He said.
"I just saw you." I giggled to him. He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, but you were here everyday for over a month, and then suddenly you just weren't here anymore. I just miss having you around."
I gave him a sad smile. "I'm sorry, Mikey. I've just been so busy lately, but I promise I'll come around more often."
His eyes finally met mine, and he smiled.
"What's got you so stressed, Gee? You look like shit." I laughed loudly at him, and sat back in my chair.
"You remember the guy I told you about, right?" I asked him.
"Frank?"
I proceeded to tell him everything that had happened in the last few days. He seemed really thankful that I was telling him these things. He probably got sick of hearing about the same things everyday, and it could've been nice to hear about something not related to this hospital.
"I don't think you should feel bad for not saying it back to him, Gerard." Mikey said slowly. "I just don't think that you even need to say it. It's obvious that you love him."
I widened my eyes. "How is it obvious?" I asked him.
"Well for one, you never shut up about him. You smile everytime you say his name, and you beat a kid up just for hurting him. It's just a noticeable thing, Gee. You love him through actions, and as they say; actions speak louder than words."
I grinned at him.
"Mikey, you're so fuckin smart." I said, thankful that he had solved my problem with myself.
"I try to be." He said with a small smile.
"Did Linda tell you anything about when I'll get out of here?" He asked me. I felt my heart drop.
"She didn't.. I'm sorry, Mikey." I said sadly.
He shrugged and turned away from me.
"Do you mind if we cut the visit short? I'm really tired and should probably get to sleep." He said quietly.
I suddenly felt awful for him. I wanted to make him feel better.
"Mikey, today I was thinking a lot today, and I realized that one of the main reasons I love Frank is because he reminds me of you. Obviously I don't think of you two in the same way, but he's like you in so many ways. You're both absolutely amazing and very smart. I think you would like him very much. Would you like it if I brought him up here next time?" I asked.
He turned to me and smiled. "I would love that."
I honestly just think he was happy to have the opportunity to see someone other than me and his doctor.
"Okay, Mikey. I'll bring him next time. I love you, and please stay safe."
I gave him a loving hug before leaving his room and walking back out to the lobby.
Linda waved bye to me as I was walking through. "Good luck with that rebel son of yours. School is important and definitely shouldn't be skipped" I said with a grin.
She rolled her eyes and chuckled.
"I'll let my son, Frank know you said that."
