Boarder Line Badass

~Bella’s POV~

Blair opened the door showcasing us to the masses of boys. She strutted in; Me, Haylee and Shannon however, stayed put.

“Come on guys!” Blair urged, turning around to face us. “Mingle!” We followed her through the sea of boys, some of whom stared as we passed. She meandered through the crowd until she reached a side door.

“Wait. Blair why are we leaving?” Haylee asked. “I thought the whole reason we came here was to stay in the barn?”

“These are all the ordinary boys, we deserve better!” And with that she stepped through the door and into the crisp twilight.

We were greeted by a lanky boy who squealed when he saw us and ran into Blair for a hug. “Oh my god!” You actually got Shannon to come!” He exclaimed. “And who are these guys?” He asked, motioning to us.

“This is Bella and Haylee. Bella and Haylee, this is Jem.”

“Hey.” Me and Haylee both replied, smiling at the boy. “So, have you got a girlfriend?” I asked him. Blair let out an outrageously loud snort and shrieked,

“No! And not that he’d want one either.” She added, winking. I nodded in understanding just as Jem began a long ramble.

“We have a new boy at school and he’s so gorgeous, I’m sure it’s not even legal. Apparently, he’s a real bad boy.” I listened in awe as Jem carried on talking about the ‘hottest boy on the planet’ just as Shannon pulled on my dress,

“Let’s go ‘mingle’”

“Sure.” I replied, we turned and left Blair, Haylee and Jem just as a group of boys went over and joined them. Shannon led me to a nearby tree where we sat down. I breathed out a sigh of relief. “So.Many.Boys.”

“I know, sometimes it can be too much.” She chuckled. After about an hour of avoiding the opposite sex under the tree, Shannon said she had someone to show me. We walked to the side of the barn until we came to group of three boys.

“Shannon?!” One of them asked, obviously amazed.

“Hey, Nate.”

“Is it actually you?” He asked, grinning.

“Yeeeess, Blair made me come. Anyway this is Bella, Bella this is Nate; my brother.”

“Your brother goes to the boys school?” I asked.

“Yeah guess our parents wanted to get rid of both of us.” Nate shrugged. Shannon and Nate began chatting and I couldn’t help but notice one of his friends was staring at me.

“Hey.” I greeted giving a small wave. Why did I wave? Who waves at people who are standing three feet in front of them?

“Hi.” He replied, “I’m Ash.” We looked at each other for a moment until he mumbled, “You’re pretty.” I was a bit taken aback by his comment and stood with my mouth hanging open. After he realised that he had actually said that out loud, his cheeks began to redden and his gaze moved to the floor. “Err, um I’m sorry. I’m so embarrassing.”

“No, it’s fine. You’re pretty too. See now we’re both embarrassed.” He finally met my eyes after his staring competition with the floor, I heard Shannon calling my name. I turned to leave but Ash grasped my wrist.

“Do you have to go?” He asked sadly, his bottom lip jutting out.

“Yeah, I’m sorry I just-“ My sentence was interrupted by someone inside the barn shouting.

“TEACHERS ARE COMING!” I shared a shocked look with Ash. It was my first day at school and I was already screwed.

“Let me give you my number.”

“What?!” I asked, looking around as people began dispersing into the woods.

“Here, I have a pen.” He said as he grabbed my bare arm.

“Is now really a good time? I mean we have to go, like now.”

“We won’t get caught, I promise.” He assured me, scribbling the digits across my arm. As soon as he finished he took my hand and began pulling me away from the barn. I looked back to see that Shannon had just disappeared back into the barn, probably looking for Blair and Haylee. I made Ash wait with me for them. Finally, Blair appeared her pale face even paler than usual.

“Where are the others?!” I demanded.

“Haylee’s already left. She was looking for this guy she met earlier and Shannon…” She trailed off,

“What about Shannon?!”

“They caught her.”
