Boarder Line Badass
Chapter 3
~Haylee's POV~
Blair dragged us down vintage corridors, smothered in old, daunting paintings. Chandeliers hung from the ceilings and we arrived at a spiral staircase.
"Our room is up here." Blair grinned, we followed closely behind her. There was another corridor when we reached the top but we did not venture down there, only to the first room on the left with our number 221 C in bold metal letters. Blair quickly unlocked it with her key and the door swung open. The building was unusually quiet for a boarding school.
The room was large and brightly lit from the huge windows that went up to the ceilling. The balcony doors were open, allowing a slight breeze to lift the curtains high into the air. Four beds were randomly placed each with soft pillows and mattresses that were piled high. A sweet smell left the sizeable en suite bathroom to our left. There were a few personal touches on Blairs corner and the bed next to hers.
"Who sleeps there?" Bella asked, pointing towards the other taken bed.
"Oh, thats Shannon's bed. She's not here right now."
"We have a balcony?" Bella whispered in shock.
"Of course, we are one of 2 rooms with a balcony because our parents have more money than they know what to do with."
We scoffed and brought our suitcases further into the room, "I want that one." I said and nodded towards a bed that was next to the balcony doors and opposite Shannon's. I couldn't help but notice Bella huff as she set towards a bed that was on the other side of Blair's and closest to the bedroom door.
Bella and I ducked under the curtains and admired the view from our room. It looked over the lake and vast acres of land. I noticed a few girls hanging around some trees, and also noticed someone disappearing towards a barn that was well tucked away.
“What’s that barn for?” Bella asked.
“You’ll see.” Blair replied, smirking.
“So, what are the rules around here?” I asked, wandering back into the room and sinking into the soft mattress.
“Do you mean what rules are there? Or what rules are there that people actually pay attention to?”
“Both.” I replied, she grinned and sat up, crossing her legs.
“Well, the usual no disrespecting the teachers, homework schedules blady blah. But on weekdays, phones are taken away at 8.30am and given back at 4.00pm, lessons are from 9.30 until 4.00pm. There is a uniform for both of you in the wardrobe. And you’re not allowed over the south side of the estate, or in the barns.” We sighed and flopped down on our beds. Blair giggled,
“Come on, I’ll give you tour!”
“Why aren’t we allowed on the south side or in the barns?” Bella asked as me and her joined Blair in standing up.
“You do realise no one actually pays attention to those rules, rights? I thought I would just tell you incase for whatever reason, a reason should come up. Let’s go!”
