Chapter 4 - I Don´t See It That Way
Towards the end of her show Jake and I were leaning on each other, trying to keep steady and simulate a sober state; totally failing by the way. Rob who hadn´t been able to keep his stare away from Sarie, made his way towards her, attempting to initiate a conversation. Jake wasn´t going to let his drunken state get in the way of a possible hook-up. Rob was complimenting her music, and aesthetic. She politely responded to his praise, although it was apparent that she would rather be interrogated at Guantanamo Bay. Trying to detract the attention from herself, she turned her attention to Jake and me, leaning on each other. “You guys are such a cute couple,” she commented. “Eww, gross,” I slurred pushing Jake away, then falling back into his embrace, clinging tightly. “We´re not a couple, I´m obviously way out of her league…you, on the other hand…” he trailed off. In my drunken stupor, I turned to him and exclaimed, “If I´m out of your league, then she´s waaaay out of yours, Jake.” Sarie, laughed. “Haha, you´re cute, what´s your name?” Sarie questioned. “Liz; nice to meet you, I wanted to thank you for taking crappy songs and making them not only tolerable, but pretty darn good.” I slurred. “Thank you, not a lot of people understand that about my art, that´s what I aim for,” she responded slamming down the shot the bartender had set down for her.
