Death is Inevitable

Chapter 16

Gerard pov

I struggle to get out of the police officers hold, as he drags me out to the police car waiting for me so it can bring me to my doom. It's funny actually, only a few hours ago me and Frank were free and doing what we want, not giving a care in the world and in a split second it all can change, hell your life could change.

You could be living one second and boom in the next second your dead, like if you were in a car crash or suicide or even some natural disaster like a tornado or hurricane killed you. One second can be the difference between life and death or the biggest decision of your life. It's scary to think of it that way, I wonder which second in time will be the difference between life and death for me.

He sets me down in the car and shuts the door harshly behind me and I jump a little, being shot from my world of thoughts. I look over and see another officer do the same to Mikey. As he shuts the door behind him, he makes his way to the drivers seat and buckles in, getting ready to drive off.
"Ready?" The officer asks, smirking.

I give him a glare and he just turns away, still smirking as he begins to back out of the driveway.
"You don't know how much im enjoying this." He says, sarcastically.

I grunt a little in annoyance and lean back in my seat, dreading the whole 'trip' ahead of us. I glance over my shoulder and see Mikey playing with his fingers, trying to keep from being bored, when I hear what sounds like a shout come from outside.

I begin to listen carefully, trying to detect where the screaming was coming from, and what they are saying.

"Gerard.." Mikey says, tapping my shoulder and looking out the back window in the car, a confused expression on his face.

I turn my head so I can look to see what he was looking at, when I see Frank running behind the car at full speed. What the hell is he doing here? I thought he was safe,'I thought he ran off! Why is he putting himself in danger when he could just be free and leave us?

I quickly move over and open my window up as fast as I can and stick my head out the window looking at the running Frank behind us.

"Frank!?" I shout, the wind blowing my hair in every direction. I feel a smile light up my face at the sight of him.

"Gerard! I-." He gets cut off as we turn a corner, and I am beginning to close the window up when I hear his voice again and I see him turn the corner.

"Gerard! I will find you!" He shouts, and we drive away at full speed as we reach the highway, leaving Frank behind to find a way to save me and Mikey from what seems like our inevitable doom.

Frank pov

The drive on the road seems to be going on for forever, but it's much easier now that I actually know where I'm going. I continue down the asphalt road, making note of each of the landmarks I pass and restaurants, trying to remember if we passed them when we walked to Gerard and Mikey's old house.
I've passed things like Walmarts and Subways that are common and hard to remember specifically, but I've also passed things like Casinos and things that are only specific to that area in New Jersey. It makes it easier when I pass those kinds of things, because they're much easier to remember.

I'm driving down the road, still going a pretty good speed, when all of a sudden the car slows down a little, then stops fully. What the..? I look over and see that im out of gas. Completely. I grunt a little and look around frantically for a gas station. Just to my luck, directly behind me is a gas station. Damn I got lucky. I take the car and use all of my strength to try and push the car towards the gas station.

I give it one big push and it moves about and inch and sigh before beginning to push again slowly making my way towards the gas station.

"Can this thing move any faster?" I mumble under my breath, getting irritated because of how long it's taking for the car to move.

The car rolls along, slowly making its way closer and closer.

"When did gas get so expensive?!" I say to myself, astonished.

Taking out the money that i strike from Gerard and Mikey's parents, I stick it into the machine and it takes it. I fill up the car and hop back in, ready to find Gerard.

I can tell I'm getting closer because I see the large building I used to call 'home' on the horizon. Ah this brings back so many memories, torturous ones, beautiful ones All different kinds.

I park the car over behind some huge bushes so they won't be able to see it. Maybe this will be easy, maybe I'll easily sneak in and break Gerard and Mikey out with no problem like last time. I tell myself, knowing I'm getting my hopes up for nothing.

I devise a plan quickly in my head before unbuckling and stepping out of the car. I make my way over towards the gate and look at the lock, examining it carefully. Hm. There's a place where you're supposed to swipe your I.D card and obviously I don't have one, so I'll most likely have to wait for someone that's walking by to unlock it.

I run away quickly, waiting for the next person who comes whether its parents or friends visiting or even doctors checking in. I squat behind a bush, when I see a lady that looks to be at about the age of fifty walk up to the gate and open it up. I get up quickly and run towards the door, running through the now open gate.

"I'm in. The rest should be as easy as last time." I mumble to myself.
