Changes (Gerard Way Fan-Fiction)
Artists, Engineers, Musicians and Nurses
"Ty, dinner's ready!" was the thing I was waiting for about five hours now and finally hearing it made the moment about 200% better. I just had my first day at the new school and just finished my homework. What I really was doing while waiting for dinner was examining my work from art class earlier and thinking about what Mr. Way had said. It's a beautiful thing to think about these kind of things in my oppinion. Pain, loss...revenge. And the ability of letting it all behind. I decided to take the picture with me upstairs to see what my partens had to say about it.
"So Ty..." my Dad started inbetween bites of his self made pizza. "...how was your first day at the new school?". Instead of anwering right away I thought about it and what I found out kind of surprised me. "It was...great?" I answered, more as a question then an actual statement. "You tell us." Mum threw in, laughing slightly. "Yeah, I guess it was great." I said, mainly to myself but they could here me anyway. "I met a guy named Ray and a girl named Mica. They're quiet nice, even though I'm a bit insecure about Mica." I rambled out while stuffing my face with more pizza. With stuff was so awesome. "Why's that?" Dad asked, his mouth full. "Don't know, one of the popular chicks, I guess." I answered shrugging to show that I didn't care too much. Tomorrow I was going to spend the break with Ray anyway. Or maybe with Mikey, he seemed quiet nice, as well.
That's when his offer from earlier came back into my mind. The reason I declined his offer to drive me home, or more for his brother to drive me home, is that my parents are very protective when it's about new people and even more when it's about new people who are older then me. And so am I, in some extend, I guess.
Anyway, my plan was to spend some time with Mikey, so that wouldn't be a problem in the near future and I wouldn't have to walk half an hour after school which was a nice sideeffect.
"Ah yes and I met Mikey. He's into the same music and games I'm into. Do you mind me hanging out with him sometimes?" I asked out of the blue. I knew they wouldn't mide but still. I rather ask, then getting shit for it later. "Sure, why not?" Dad said, his eyes not leaving his news paper. "Nice, he offerend me that his brother could bring me home after school sometimes. That would be quiet nice because walking half an hour after school kinda sucks." I added chuckling. Mum gave me a suspicious look. "Mum, don't start. Mikey'll allways be in the car, as well. No need to give me a lecture about older brothers." Her eyes soften a bit but the suspicion was still there.
That's when an other thing came into my mind: "Mum, Dad what you think about that?" I asked while getting my drawing out. Dad was the first one to grab it and examined it carefully. After some seconds he gave it to Mum who did the same. "It looks nice." she said, gave it back to me and kept eating. Well...thanks? "I drew it in art today. The teacher is kinda wierd but in a good way, I guess." I mumbled, not too keen to go into detail anymore. "What do you mean?" Dad asked, not too interessted himself. "Well, when he saw my picture he came up with an entire story which might be behind it, with no effort." I explained, still impressed by it. "Well, my darling, that's what art teachers do. They talk and interpret where is nothing to talk about or to interpret. Same goes for philosophy teachers." Mum threw in, her lack of interesst for the topic written all over her face....
Well, that...kind of hurted. Actually, I liked the idea of a picture being more than just a picture or a song being more than just some sounds with some lyrics mixed in. "Doen. I'm in my room." I said before I got my dishes into the sink and made my way back up afterwards. I wasn't in the mood of arguing about my and their interrests. It's nothing new that they don't care too much about my love for music and art, that was allways my grandpas', god bless him, thing to do. He made me sing every time I got to visit him and brought me pens and everything I needed to draw and paint. He was very talented himself which is why I still got some artworks from him in my room, some of them decorating my walls. However, my parents are more the kind of persons that need a practical purpose in everything they do. My Dad being an engineer and my Mum being a nurse, they don't have much to do with things like art or music, so it's only normal that they aren't too keen of hearing me ramble about my art lessons... .
Not knowing what to do after sitting around in my room for some minutes, I turned on my stereo which started to blare The Missfits and checked my schedule for the next day. First two lessons were Musik, then Geography, break, dobble EP and finally english. Quiet a nice day...
....which was going to start right now.
I entered the school building just like I did yesterday. The only difference was that I allready had my schedule, so I more or less new where to go. Musik was a lesson, I was really looking forward to. I allways loved musik as much as I loved art, if I had to decide between those two things I would be in deep shit because I wouldn't be able to do it. I loved both of it and I loved to connect those two things.
After some minutes of searching, I finally found the room where I was supposed to be five minutes earlier and nocked at the door. "I still can play the "new kid"-card." I whispered to myself before opening the door.
The first thing I noticed was the giant fro in the back of the room which brought a smile to my face immediately. At least, I wouldn't be alone throughout the first two lessons today. The second thing I noticed was the bright smiling men in the front of the who was starring at me expectanly. "Sorry, I'm late. I-" I was about to excuse but was cut off by this men who I guessed, was the teacher.
"It's no problem." he almost yelled and slapped me on the back in a friendly manor. "Tell me, do you play any instruments or sing or anything?" he asked out of the blue. I thought for a seconde. I could play the guitar quiet well. Not overly awesome, but good enough. And then there was the singing. I could sing, I recorded my voice multible times in the past but I never shew anyone because, I don't know. I never felt like I should share it with anyone. Instead, I kept it to myself and made it my secret little joy and I planed to keep it like that.
"I can play guitar." came out of my mouth as a result of my thinking. The teachers eyes grew in excitement. "Awesome, an other guitarist. Sit down next to Ray, the guy with the fro." he said pointing toward the back of the room.
I did, as I was told and made my way toward the empty seat next to Ray and sat down. "Guitar, hu?" Ray whispered, smirking. "Yeah." I whispered back even though I felt like there was no need to whisper with this smiling guy as a teacher. "Wanna hang out during break? I want to introduce you to some of my friends." Ray seemed to realise the same thing because he wasn't whispering anymore. "Sure, I'd love to." was the last thing I said before I started to pay attention to what the teacher, whose name I didn't know, yet had to say. Wierdly, it seemed like he could read my mind because the first thing he said was: "Ah yes, I almost forgot. I'm Mr. Iero."
Just started to read this. It's good. I hope to see more chapters.
