Red Is The Warmest Colour
Chapter Three: Luck, Coinsidence, Fate.
"Why did you help me?" I asked, biting my lip.
"What? Did you think I was just going to let that fuckboy assualt you? No. I'm not that kinda' guy," His cigarette dangled up and down as he spoke. "Here, a metaphor. If you have the chance to help someone in need, you do it."
I laughed, scratching the back of my neck. "I'm not sure that's the definition of a metaphor."
"Well, it's a saying, how about that?" He grinned.
"Oh, alright." I chuckled.
"Isn't the sky so beautiful?" He started.
I looked up, and incredibly, the sky was full of stars. Not a single cloud in sight.
"There are places in this world where it's like this every night. Wouldn't it be absolutely amazing to live somewhere like that?" Gerard gestured with his hands as he spoke, as if he was one of my maths teachers.
I half-smiled at him, letting him go on.
"I want to move to an island near Greece one day, called Corfu. Maybe not even live, maybe just for a month. Just because I want to experience it, you know?"
I nodded, folding my arms.
"I don't know about myself, since I don't really have many talents outside a musical sense." I sighed.
"You have an awfully good vocabulary for a teenager. You've already given me the impression that you're quite intellectual. What's stopping you from fulfilling your dreams?"
"I don't have that many dreams. All I want in life is to be happy. Which is a lot more than I'm succeeding to do right now."
"That's unfortunate," He said, leaning in a little closer. "Since you seem like such a beautiful human being."
I looked straight into his eyes. I saw so much hope, so much happiness and opportunity. Everything I ever wanted in that man.
People say love at first sight is a myth. I beg to differ.
A tug on my arm awoke me from my daydream, and a tired-looking Hayley stood next to me, with a raised eyebrow.
"Let's go," She dragged me away, and a sinking feeling filled me.
"It was great meeting you!" I called to Gerard.
He waved, smiling that amazing smile again.
And before I knew it, I was outside the bar, following Hayley home.

The day after was just like any other, yet so different.
I could not stop thinking about Gerard.
I would rarely stop in my tracks, thinking of Emma. I was too... In love. As cheesy as that sounds.
Another thing that changed was Hayley. Her usually happy and extroverted self seemed to be subdued, replaced by a quiet, shy girl.
I was oblivious to the reason, but I suspected that the bathroom incident from last night had something to do with it.
History.
A class I revolt against.
Unfortunately, Hayley and Emma were the only friends I had, and neither of them were in that class.
"Today, class," My overly happy know-it-all teacher, Mr Edwards started. "Seniors will be helping you with your work today. As usual, we will be studying the american revolution. Now, if you'll grab your text books, we'll be working outside, seeing as though it's such a beautiful day."
I sighed, picking my backpack up from under my desk.
