Bad Blood
Chapter Three: Because the Drugs Never Work (In This Case They Do)
When Frank wakes up again, he’s still on the couch and the sun is up high. When Frank checks his phone he curses when he sees its gone past noon. Oh well, he does fuck all anyway until work.
Frank looks around with a frown until he remembers what had happened the night before.
Scrambling off of the sofa, he rushes into his small bathroom and makes a bee-line to the mirror. When he sees his neck he pales.
There, on his neck, is two holes- well he thinks they’re two holes because the dried blood kind of covers them.
Grabbing some toilet paper, he wets it before he starts to clean the wound on his neck. At first he flinches at the slight pain but it doesn’t take long before the blood is all cleaned off, giving him a perfect look at the bite.
Frank is instantly reminded of those cheesy black and white horror films he’s obsessed with.
The cliché two mark vampire bite. Well, that’ll be fun to explain to the guys. Fuck.
Shrugging, he flushes the bloody tissues down the toilet. He looks down at his clothes to see his shirt is also covered in some blood. Deciding on a shower, he strips of the dirty clothing and hops in the warm water.
After his shower, he gets changed into clean- well not really but these don’t have blood on them- clothes before going to the kitchen, deciding to feed his grumbling stomach.
After making a sandwich, coffee and lighting a cigarette, Frank settles on the couch and flicks the TV on. Re-runs of Friends, good enough.
Just as he puts the remote down he just then notices a bottle of pills on the table. The fuck?
That’s when Frank remembered Gerard went out to get him Iron pills the night before. He
actually got some? Huh.
Frank picks the bottle up- yep there it is Iron Pills- he sighs but decides to take a couple, sipping on his coffee to help get them down. He knows iron pills when he sees them and that they were. He used to take them when he was younger but once his parents separated and he moved out, he never remembered or could never be bothered.
His Nonna was probably turning in her grave right now.
He jumps when his phone buzzes on the table where he left it before his shower. He looks at it seeing he has a text… from an unknown number.
Don’t forget to take the pills, I’ll know if you have or not. See you soon Frankie. Stay out of trouble, will ya - G
Umm… Well then. Frank obviously knows it’s from Gerard so he saves the number under ‘Vamp Dude’ cuz he knows if Gerard sees the name it’ll annoy him.
Frank replies with- Who are you, my mom? jfc dude, calm ya fangs- F
In just a few seconds he gets a response back- Just do it, Frankie- G- Which, okay Gerard probably didn’t appreciate the humour but whatever.
Not even his own mom fussed this much over him and she was a tiny, yet scary, Italian Catholic woman.
After finishing his lunch, Frank decides to take another nap. After yesterday and with his condition, he was wiped out.
Lucky for him, when he wakes up he has a whole hour until he needs to be at the bar. It doesn’t take him long to freshen up before he’s taking the short walk to The Lucky Rabbits Foot.
Although this time he’s a little wearier of his surroundings.
When he arrives at the bar the guys all stop and stare at him. He goes to ask them what the fuck is wrong with them until he remembers the nasty bite mark on his neck. Oops.
“Frankie, what the fuck happened to you?” Ray asks, his face drawn up in concern. That is until Dewees speaks up.
“Well, Frankie of course you’d pull the kinky ones.” He sighs a long suffering sigh and Frank allows his face to go blank of any expression before he shrugs. The guys all get a range of disgusted and proud looks on their faces before carrying on with work.
It’s only Mikey that narrows his eyes in suspicion. He knows Frank isn’t one to have random one night stands. Well- not anymore anyway. Frank swore them off when a guy almost ripped him open several months ago.
Frank assures him quickly that it was his last one night stand and that it got a little out of hand. Mikey obviously doesn’t fully believe him but he lets it go to serve someone their drink.
Exhaling out of relief, Frank quickly goes round the other side of the bar and starts helping Mikey.
Phew, that was close.
